Oh it's good to be off that other thread.
If RVP stays fit for a whole season (unlikely) then he will score more than Rooney. Rooney goes through too many non-scoring patches for me. If Chelsea would ever pass the ball to him Torres might even do it. Or perhaps one of the new signings might do it.
Rooney is overhyped by the media but he's better than Van Persie
if RVP stays fit for the whole season he will come at least 3rd in ballon d'or >FACT<
I reckon picking up the ballon' d;or for single handedly getting us to a CL final and winning us the best league in the world will shut the delusionalised fans up. Van Persie just rolled around the ground like a girl while Rooney was doing that.

Obviously he is overrated, but technically RVP is better. Kun Aguero is better than both though.

Man city will kill man united, If city had a decent coach they would have won the league last season and would win it this season aswell. Aguero, Tevez, Silva, Balotelli, Toure, Kolavrov
I've never actually watched a whole game of football.
Are whole games good?
Rooney is 7/1 to be top scorer this season, where as Van Persie is 9/1.
==========
yeah, because the odds tell you everything, don't they?
last season rooney had 16 goals in 40 games. van persie had 22 in 33. van persie can strike a ball with either foot, while rooney can just about toe-punt it with one.
is that clear enough for you, or do you need me to come to surrey and explain it further?
Boo to you Barry Smith! BOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Your brother is far superior to you and has amazing taste in football teams.
How do odds not tell you everything? We are favourites to be champions as we were last season, what happened? We won the league. Bookies make money because they are right and you are wrong.

crikey, even for a manure fan you're a plank. i'll give you a medal if you can tell me how many fingers you have.
bookies are professional guessers, end of.

Rooney single handedly won united a title - has van persie done that?
Is that clear enough for you, or do you need me to come to Surrey and explain it further? (you see what I did there?)
Why was VP only there for 33 games? Would it be because he's a tad 'fragile' ?
Odds are usually right, (I use the word 'usually' loosely before you start crying.)
Wonder what the odds are for a goonies season collapse before October this year?
Rooney is brilliant player but i wouldn't back him to be PL top scorer, he isn't an out and out goal scorer.
He offers a lot more than just goals, he basically carried Utd over the finishing line last season after his shocking start.
Bookies are champions of their profession. They are the best at what they do. We are the best at what we do, hence they acknowledge this. We work well together and we make them money and we bet on ourselves to make us money. Hence Rooney is better.

he didn't win them the league title, he was poor at the start, in fact players Van der Saar, Hernandez, Berbatov, contributed more. He didn't win you matches on his own like Ronaldo did for you a few seasons ago.
Rooney was the best player in the league last season by an absolute mile. Why do you think we won the league when he came back from his personal problems? Funny isn't it, weren't Arsenal winning the league until Van Persie came back, then he had a terrible 2nd half of the season causing Arsenal to collapse, when Rooney was consistent all season and won us the league on his own, through a great partnership with chico.

He was awful against Citeh, you just make yourself look stupid listing that match. And wasn't it Berbatov who scored 5 goals against Blackburn? Some special people on this site!
