Good replacement yes but benteke would be a risky signing for any club, only 1 season in pl, still young and naive.
No Fackin Chance!
Regards.
Sell Suarez for £50m and buy Benteke for £35m?
I'm always wary of the 1/2 a good season striker. Not sure if I want him. Defintiely don't want Michu
Fletch....nah, sell suarez for 50 Mill and get Benteke and Eriksen....

The FSG way.
That'd be a great piece of business if you can pull it off.
I was led to believe Eriksen will end up at Dortmund.
It'll be interesting to see who they sign this summer. They should have the better part of £60m to play with if they reinvest from sales.
I know they've signed Sokratis from Werder.
Dortmund have to be favourites due to the cl and they just hit the final, but you never no; Liverpool is still a huge name.
If liverpool are serious to challenge for the top 4 they need to go for somebody like osvaldo or muriel
Possibly, GB.
Guess it depends whether he wants to test himself in the prem, but I'd imagine he'll go to Dortmund if both teams can agree a fee.
Why would Benteke want to go to Liverpool? If he moves he moves properly.
Money, good training facilities, guaranteed starting place, coach who is supposed to improve youth and a brilliant fan base I would have thought.
adot, where else would he go?
United don't need a striker. City and Chelsea have bigger fish to fry.
Arsenal and Spurs probably won't stump up the cash Villa will want for him.
Liverpool is a very attractive and realistic destination for him.
We have all of that. You probably have more money, but we can still offer it him. Training facilities ours, just like yours is top notch. He will always have a starting place. Our coach is looking towards and improving upon our youth. After all we are the NextGen champions. Your fan base is bigger, of course, but we still have great support. But the point is you cannot provide him CL football. And, if he moves he will go to a club that provides him just that.
He wouldn't have to move house either.
I do think Tottenham are in with a better shout if he does go though. Couple of other players from Belgium and London is a big draw.
Well, if you are going by paper talk...Borussia Dortmund are interested in him too.
adot, who then?
Liverpool, with the aquisition of Benteke, may be able to achieve CL football.
Benteke is an amazing prospect, but you're talking about him like he's Suarez or Bale - players that would demand such things as you're saying.
However, I don't think he will move. The reason why I say that is he gave a interview in Belgium which was completely taken out of context.
Benteke said something like "I won't fight with Villa" which was translated to by the English media to "Villa cannot force me to stay"
Even the Belgian's themselves are baffled to why or where all these rumours have come from and how the media in this country have translated it in a wrong way.
Adot...nice wum attempt, but really a villa fan....cmon.
Benteke at Dortmund could be frightening. Especially for his development. Working with Klopp and the players he has would only make him better.
I'm being serious. What do you want me to say? If Liverpool were to make a bid. If you are Paul Lambert you say to Benteke, for the best of your career you should stay. Why? because now is the time you prove yourself. Not after one season.
I don't see us being interested in Benteke.
We signed Sturridge to play him down the middle.
Unless we are going to change formation and play with two strikers, I just can't see it.
Neither Benteke nor Sturridge are going to want to be back up for us when we are not even in Europe.
I think Benteke would be far better served staying at Villa for another couple of years. Get regular football. He is still raw (as shown by being caught offside more than any player in the league last season), and needs to smooth those edges before he will be ready to start every week for a top 4 team.
If he goes to any of the current top teams he would be making a mistake IMO.
Benteke is a good player, but Villa would want to pull our pants down over the price.
Our system doesn't really use a target man, which means that a lot of Benteke's quality would be largely redundant. I'm also not sure how he'd cope when the opposition are sitting back like they tend to do against us.
He'd be a great option to have in the squad, but considering the different demands he'd face and the mental money Villa will want, I don't think it'd be prudent.
Good points, righteous and DSG.
I do think the prospect of joining Dortmund could be good for his development also as he'd be playing alongside some amazing players.
Whether Dortmund will want to sign him is another matter.
