Anichebe plays as a hold up player who backs into defenders with the ball played to his feet and Jelavic is when he has confidence is pretty much a finisher.Neither of them are in the mould or a Crouch(former Liverpool hoofball forward) and Carroll (current Liverpool hoofball forward)
For a club that professes to be the paragons or pass and move you certainly have had your fair share of hoofball type forwards(can I add Heskey into the mix)
Anichebe and Jelavic are big lumps upfront who call for the ball to be lumped long to them. So Jelavic banged in a fair amount of goals in his first few months or so wouldn't say he was a finisher.
Also Crouch and Carroll have tonnes more ability on the ball then the likes of Jelavic/Anichebe they can actually play football on the ground too.
I was taking the mick.
Will be interesting to see how things work. Contrary to popular belief Everton do play some good stuff along the floor, particularly when Mirallas and Pienaar are playing.
Martinez will do best not to change things too much as Moyes has made Everton a very solid team at the back. Martinez made Wigan one of the worst in the league at the back.

If Carroll is that good on the floor why is Brenda so keen to get shot of the donkey then????

They do and those two player are their most technical would say Osman also. I actually like Martinez and I enjoyed watching his Wigan too, but I said it when he was linked to Liverpool he would need a good defensive astute assistant I was saying keep Steve Clarke on with him.

Crouch is the better with the ball at his feet he is quite skilful also. You can have Heskey i'll give you that one he was there to flick it on to Owen like
Remember the good old days, when men were men, and Everton had small Dunc up front?
Agreed, Jonjo.
Everton's problem is that most of their backroom staff are coming to United, so what was already there in terms of the defensive coaching will no longer be at Martinez' disposal.
If Everton are clever they'll get a good defensive coach in alongside him, unless he's already at the club - I'm no expert on Everton's coaching situation.
we have at the moment Steve Round,Alan Stubbs,David Weir and I think Andy Holden all defensive minded coaches at the club
I reckon Liverpool will be lucky to finish any higher than 7th with Suarez leaving. It's a shame Martinez turned Liverpool down,as he's used to rebuilding his teams every season.

Just ask the RS on here, they seem to know everything about our club.
Ok, cheers, Phil.
Think Steve Round is coming to us.
I don't know much about him but have heard some good things.
Would you be able to enlighten me a little more about him?
Sometimes difficult to do with assistants, I know, as many United fans are convinced Phelan was only there to make the tea.

If Carroll's worth £35m,then our Dunc is priceless.
Round is following Moyes to United isn't he?

If that's true you can see Martinez taking his with him which is a worry because his Wigan handed goals away gift wrapped. But most managers do like to take their own staff but sometimes only 2 or 3 close members. But like at Utd you would hope the experienced players would make the transition easier. Theres some long serving players at Everton with bags of experience that can only help the transition, it depends how Martinez goes about it I guess he could ship them out and go continental (huge gamble).

Do you think he will keep any of them, I mean I think most would advise him to do so but who knows.

You posted about Liverpool fans predicting doom and gloom for Everton, then followed it up by saying the best you see Liverpool doing if Suarez goes is 7th.
Then you take a pop at Liverpool fans talking about Everton, despite sticking your oar in regularly about Liverpool.
You're a miracle.
I agree with that, Jonjo.
It's why I think Martinez will have to try not to make too many changes.
If he tries to rip up what is already a very stable unit it could go t!ts up.
I'd hazard a guess he'd be smart enough not to do that, however, I would have thought the same thing about Wigan.
Time will tell, but if Everton can keep some of their defensive coaches and Martinez doesn't tamper too much he'll do well.

We brought round from Newcastle a few seasons ago and he wasn't exactly greeted by most fans with open arms as he replaced Alan Irvine who is a popular former player.
I think Moyes will be taking alot of the training sessions with your first team at the start to make an impression.
He'll make sure your lads will be super fit.One exercise I think they call the horse shoe run will sort em out in pre season
