Delighted with Martinez

I get the feeling Martinez is a nice enough guy he will give himself and the team plenty of time to assess what needs to be done. Just common sense really but most staff offer to resign once a new manager comes along don't they. Who will be being replaced at Man Utd then if Moyes is taking a bunch of his over? Could be some good coaches/staff needing new jobs too.

Did Rodgers take any of his backroom staff from Swansea?

Then you take a pop at Liverpool fans talking about Everton, despite sticking your oar in regularly about Liverpool.

You're a miracle.

Glad you think so

The likes of stubbsy Weir and big Dunc may stay due to the fact they could become assistant manager under martinez and could become future manager material for us.

Cheers, Phil.

He'll make sure your lads will be super fit.One exercise I think they call the horse shoe run will sort em out in pre season

This is one of the things most United fans have been excited about the prospect of Moyes and his coaching staff.

Our players are so unfit! Rooney, Cleverly and Anderson in particular.

Kagawa often seems to fade after the hour mark as well - I think he's only lasted 90 minutes once all season.

Plus we seem to suffer a lot of injuries.

He's younger than all three.

Jonjo, Phelan is off.

Steele, our goalkeeping coach.

Rene Mullenstein has been rumoured to be leaving, our first team coach, yet this was refuted today.

And there are rumours that Warren Joyce, our under 21 manager, will be off as well. Although nothing has been comfirmed, as far as I'm aware.

The gruelling sprint session — so called because of the course it covers — regularly results in players retching as they finish, their wobbling legs struggling to keep them upright.
Departing skipper Phil Neville, who could follow Moyes to Old Trafford as a coach, revealed it is a sight every player dreaded... the manager poking his head around the door and revealing ‘It’s the horseshoe today’.
Neville said: “It filled me with dread and I’ll never forget when we first did it. We’d had a poor-ish start to the season and a few lads were on international break.
“Me and Mikel Arteta came in and the gaffer said, ‘Right, horseshoe today’. Afterwards Mikel lay on the dressing-room floor and I was bent over cursing in the corner, calling him the worst manager in the league.
“His method is to push you to your limits in training and then the match is easy.

Martinez will be the same age as Moyes was when he took over.In the entire history of the premier league only 2 managers have stayed at 1 club longer than Moyes. So who knows how long Martinez will be at the helm

8 weeks?

Its shocking isn't it, , read a part from Bellamy's autobiography in the mirror and it was about Elano and Robinho did nothing in training and cried if you tackled them.

I think you are thinking I said how long did Roy get at Anfield before the boo boys really kicked in Robbing.

Disgraceful behaviour from your supporters.

Then you'd be wrong.

That sounds mental, Phil!

In all honesty, I cannot see Rooney being too happy about that.

But if he nuckles down and gets on with it then a fit and firing Rooney is a big asset.

In my opinion he's the sort of player that needs to work more on his fitness than your avereage athelete due to his physique, and this is simply something he hasn't done.

I think he thinks he can compensate for fitness with his ability, but that is simply not true - he's not Zidane.

He could go a similar way to Gazza unless he bucks his ideas up.

was it 8 days then robbing??? I knew it was only a short while into the season the supporters turned on their own manager.Boos ringing out from the kop.....disgraceful

They were right though, that's the truth of the matter, there was nothing positive about Woys appointment or his reign with Liverpool. It needed to be done as simple as that as nice a guy Woy is as much as the press hyped him up (being English enall) it just 1000 % was never going to work. Just be lucky he got out quickly and with a nice compensation.

I mean you'd be wrong if you thought that was what I was thinking about.

£10 million a year plus endorsements and you are in your mid twenties.Unless you are driven by outsiders or want to be known as a great of the game then I can understand why players like rooney lose focus and condition.

The likes of Cleverley and Anderson should be at peak fitness at their stages in their careers though

posted on 4/6/13

Yeah and Everton fans would sing his praises if he was taking them down I guess.

He got a good few months before fans started getting on his back.

I've always seen Rooney as a hard worker, as long as he is motivated and content. I think he might of gotten too big for his boots though ever since he spat his dummy out and got his 250k a week or w.e.

Good few months FBK???? think again,he only lasted 5 months into the season and he was being hounded by the Anfield faithful for most of his tenure

posted on 4/6/13

Phil, I cannot agree with that.

Anderson and Cleverly are different to Rooney in that they've suffered many injuries throughout their career and have also been lacking game time at United to improve fitness - particulalry Anderson.

The money thing is relevant to Rooney as because he is receiving that much the least he can do is get himself in peak fitness.

We can argue all we like about whether his ability warrants how much he earns, but he should be fit first and foremost.

Rooney, as good as he is, has bought into his own hype and not been as professional as he should have been.

He's an unfulfilled talent due to this.

When Ronaldo joined and then Rooney most people expected Rooney to be the better player, and at the time he was until 06.

Ronaldo's exceptional dedication, professionalism and mentallity are what left Rooney in his wake. Shame, really.

He did and I don't recall one positive thing to look at either, if any of the Everton fans saw positives let me know what they were please they bypassed me. P.s being an English manager isn't a positive in my eyes. We probably would of been fighting relegation if I remember correctly it was just after the two clown owners had left and Woy was their leaving gift. And I recall the opposition fans having a go at us saying we were the next leeds/pompey etc and tbf with Woy leading the relegation fight and us being in huge debt you can see why.

Yet to you Phil we should of backed him to the championship

He was getting stick for the last couple of months of his spell in charge, because he was clearly only taking us one way - down.

It is incredible how other fans fail to understand this.

Its incredible Phil fails to understand, other fans were laughing at us saying we were going into admin and getting relegated and tbh they were right as we looked like we were.
