To be honest I do think Brads best days are well behind him. Great shot stopper and reflex saves, but rubbish at corners, high balls, free kicks and penalties. I think he will be great as a number 2 but do feel both Spurs and Villa need new younger/fitter number ones.
Best of luck to Brad great guy and has done well for us.

I agree about this site, it will be as good as bbc606 if they keep on making small improvements and keep it ad-free. It runs 24/7 too.
Regarding Harry, he seems very keen to make these sorts of short term fixes, which makes me wonder if he will be staying with us for much longer. I've read that the board would rather go for younger players with decent re-sale value.
I have always liked Friedel though.

Maybe the front page could have recent gossip, resent results and transfer information!

Brad Friedel is a decent keeper but hes FORTY years old now. Jes hardly one for the future is he.

Wouldnt be too impressed if we have Friedel and Carlo next season, I was hoping for a bit better to be honest.

To the Villa fan........ Yes Brad Friedals best days are probably behind him but for short term for maybe just next season and on a free i believe spurs have got a bargain here. We need a good reliable keeper for next season so we can push on and get back in the top 4. Friedal is a lot better and more reliable than gomes even though he's 40

Being from the Midlands, a lot of my friends are either Villa or Blues fans. The Villa fans think Friedel is coming to us, and the Blues fans think Foster is....Friedel is generally considered past his best by Villa fans and I'm not sure that this is not just a short term fix. He would be commanding at the back though and give our defense some confidence, something they are lacking.

Is this the same Brad Fridel that when he was 29 Gomes age he was in the LFC reserves?? and making howlers each week??

Who remembers Edwin Van Der Saar when he was Gomes age 29??? Wasn't he dropped and sent on a free to Fulham????????????

Gomes is a top class keeper getting rid of him for Friedel would be a huge mistake.

Friedal is not what Spurs need, too old and we already have an aging keeper in Cudicini. Hope this is paper talk, unless we are getting another young keeper and rid of Gomes also.

One rumor is Steklenburg.
Another is Foster.

Oh yes, one sure thing .... Gomes is going back to Ajax....good luck to them!

Actually if he returns to PSV he may well go back to Ajax - well at least once a season anyway.

It all depends on how well he perform in the cup games for PSV. Will he push for first choice ahead of former City goal keeper Andreas Isaksson? I am not sure.
