Don't really know about this signing, but then again I don't know much about the player. £22m is a big amount of money.

However, 35 goals and 17 assists in 55 games in the League for the last two years is a huge record, especially considering he's not even a proper striker. He's 24 so has his best years infront of him, and is seen as the next big thing.

Let's hope he turns out to be our next Alonso, Torres and Suarez type signing, and not another Aquilani/Carroll signing.

Seems like your link is to a Ukranian radio stations website, so probably a little more reliable than most sources. Despite not having seen more than a handful of his appearances I'm pretty excited by this signing.

Anyways, can't say I'm not happy with the signing. He's a complete midfielder and attacker, broke the scoring record in Ukraine, is only 24 years of age, and there's still more yet to come from him. I just hope he does well.

He's very much in the mold of Erikssen, could be even better player, will be playing centre midfield with either Gerrard or Henderson, just ahead of Lucas. Nothing like Alonso like someone here mentioned, more like Modric, the most attacking player of the midfield trio.

regardless of selling players, br said we would be looking for another number 10 back in january, coutinho is only 20 and he cant do it by himself and if he gets injured..

Mkhitaryan is smart aswell, knows 5 languages including english, and graduated from the Institute of Physical Culture in Armenia. He currently studies economics at the Yerevan branch of the St. Petersburg Institute.
