we're still in june i dont kno where this worry is coming from. we cant sign CL ready players IMO, we need to bring in raw talent an develop it. Russell can still improve and i think he would at Celtic.
Celtic are minnows in European football. Russell is their standard.
Rued,
Aberdeen are minnows in a pond. I.e. pond life
The post is not about when-it's about who.And this is not a plea of panic. We should be looking at a different style of player than Russell.Do you want to progress in the CL?
So he hasnt signed? How many bids have you made?
Sally, we don't do our business the Rangers way
Yes Heed.
But at least I can acknowledge that.
You keep deluding yourself sonny
Russell is a promising player, nothing more. He's 23 and fairly inexperienced. Why on earth would we pin ecl qualification hopes on such a player?
If we do sign Russell we are only consolidating the SPL.We are not moving forward on any other front. And Celtic should be building on what we achieved in the CL last time out.
Thought you weren't after him?
Rued, no dillusion from the Bhoys. Last 16 of the CL provides the proof
Has Lennon said that Russell (if we sign him) is our only target ?
Celtic have a great business model and it got us to the last sixteen in europe this year, to get to the last eight would be great but at what cost.
No point in living beyond our means, keep the faith in Lenny we trust
Id prefer we didnt go for Russell, do we need him? Only reason to go for Russell is if Stokes leaves. And there is a 1 yr option which Celtic have used.
We need to buy players who are better than what we have, not the same standard.
All my opinion of course
I seem to remember reading numerous articles about Johnny Russell signing for Derby County over the last couple of days.
Was it all a dream? Or is he actually going for a medical on Monday?

Celtic must get better players in to go further.Logical
pontius
Dundee apparently Celtic have now matched the bid
Was Wanyama considered better quality than we had when we first signed him?
DundeeSpur if he is signing for Derby fine.He is just joining the level of Goodwillie etc.Good quality for the SPL and nothing more.

Management must have thought so.
Kind of relieved we did go for JR do see anything particularly outstanding in him. Hope he does well do south.
Chu, can you run that one by us again
Wanyama was an unknown,no one could have predicted his level of performance. He has turned out to be a good, clever and strong player at CL level.
Russell and Goodwillie have completely different characters, O'm
I'm sure JR will be a success wherever he plays. He's got the attitude to be a great player.
A season or 2 in the Championship could see him in the EPL soon enough. He's moving at the right time and in the right direction in my opinion.
Last 16 by parking the bus Heed
Pontuis sorry.
eh......
Good luck to Johnny Russell im glad we didn't go for him though. better Pontius?
