He and Larry May were the backbone of our defence for many years, and featured in the legendry Shrewsbury cup match.
What this article doesnt say is that his career was ended whilst playing for Norwich by an appalling tackle from a well known Wimbledon player and thug.
I believe that the tackle was so bad there was a suggestion of charges being brought.
One reason whilst i along with many other football fans was not sorry to see the back of that club.

Thorney a great stalwart of our club but do you remember towards the end the number of Penalty's he gave away.
Q...are there any teams you like?

Nev , i support only one team, of the others some i like, some i dont, some i find indifferent.
The old Wimbledon team were a very hard team to like, and played in a way that could not really be admired.
The likes of Vinny Jones ,Fashanu and of course our own Denis Unwise were not exactly role models.
However i have a lot of time for Neil Sullivan who i believe is still playing today at Doncaster??
he must be well into his forties now.

For the very same reason, I now find Stoke very hard to like.

If there is a falling out with Pearson, please please steer well clear of Tony Pullis. I'm sure he's a lovely bloke but what an ugly team !
