Family Guy is still good for a laugh.

Having said that, there's not many modern comedies that I like and I often find myself watching GOLD or ITV4 when looking for comedies.

You can't beat Only Fools or The Office UK

Hangover 3 is freaking awful.

Funny film? series? It has to be the old stuff - Fawlty towers, Monty Python, Black Adder etc. Ditto films

Removing the old stuff, the Office and i recently discovered the BBC series 'Not Going out' starring Lee Mack and i found it a riot so far...it is a gag-a-second, so can be hard to grasp but it is LOL iMO.

Across the pond, Arrested Development, Rules of Engagement and surprisingly 'some episodes' of New Girl.

Not Going Out is worth watching just for the woman who plays Lucy.

'Mind Your Language' is one of me all time favourites. At present though, Rules of Engagement takes it. Boss of a sitcom that.

Side Note: I'd love to have a pint with the bloke who plays 'Jeff Bingham'(on Rules of engagement). Strikes me as a top,top lad!!!

Recently watched 24 Hour Party People. That was good film, pretty funny. Got steve coogan, as well as a load of other bristish comedians, well worth a watch.

For me The Office (uk) is the best series.
Extras was also very good.
Peep Show
Father Ted. classic
Alan Partride.
south park.
The Thick of it/ In the Loop.

An Idiot Abroad
IT crowd
21 jump street
Horrible Bosses
Four Lions
Ted
The Inbetweeners + movie
The Bucket List

Just some others that ive not seen mentioned yet which I have downloaded recently, not all are out for the full comedy effect though. Some like you said just warm movies.

I don't really look for comedy films unless someone tells me oh this ones funny, because most are just lame attempts to make money.

Horrible Bosses cracked me up and has some class actors, the bit where hes meant to be on lookout in the car had me in stiches when it shouldn't of. Four Lions although about a touchy subject (terrorism) its hilarious low budget british comedy. 21 jump street and TED not that funny but nice movies none the less.
