Gets fat off a £220 000 a week wage. Wants more money so starts crying and refuses to play until demands are met. Performs only when he feels like gets carried by superior teamnates.
..................................
I never remember Rooney actually refusing to play for us...
I am also pretty sure he has been our of our best players during his time with us, the one carrying his teammates rather than the other way around,
Top article. Couldn't agree more. It's like people say say Suarez is a born winner hence the misbehavior
If people think Arshavin's Elvis late years impression was good, they'd be blown away by Wazza
Would be a disastrous signing for us.
Rooney is world-class, did you forget that

i can understand your bashing of rooney for his off the field behavior regarding him wanting more money, but i dont see this as having anything to do with his winning mentality on the field. please explain
Rooney is the best player in the world, his passion, grit, determination and Englishness are qualities needed in every team.
^ Don't forget his tracking back!
Rooney should just move forward his inevitable move to the MLS where he can stuff his fat face with supersized McTriple Cheeseburgers morning noon and night.

how true!
Rooney is not far. He's got heavy bones. Another quality that cannot be overlooked.
Glad that some fellow gooners see the light with Rooney.
Can't believe some posters would actually love to have him here, even saw one say he'd swap Wilshere for him loooooool.
And this just as we're getting rid of Arshavin too, ffs it's like finally beating chlamydia and then celebrating that by riding an aids-ridden hooker with no condom on.
Not to mention this is the that dived against us in the 50th game. I'm all for letting bygones be bygones but some things should be sacred.
I can think of one argument for having the diving chimp.
We would have Rooney, Theo, Wilshere, Ox, Gibbs and in a year or two Jenko in the England team/squad. With the reports that the PL is hurting England we could once again take the moral high ground as the team that going the extra mile to have English players.
Rooney's not a striker anymore, Fergie doesn't think so thus buying RVP.
Rooney's been playing non stop since he was 16, no 6 week winter breaks you have in Germany, it's bound to take its toll on him. He's lost his spark/ energy for him to prolong his career it would be best if he moves abroad
Seriously, I know shrek gets a lot of stick but he is miles ahead of anything we have.
If he were to sign for us tomorrow I would be over the moon
The old Rooney had a fierce winning mentality, chasing down every ball and never giving up. if we had a bit more of that we wouldn't be trophyless for 8 years

Just as I was thinking any sense had completely abandoned the Arsenal board...
Arshavin at his peak was far better than anything playing for us now and look what happened to him in the end.
No doubting Rooney's talent, just his lack of application.
And just for good measure..

The game that destroyed us...
If this season played partially out of position and hardly ever being the main man he achieved what he did with little application then the guy would be even better than Ronaldo and Messi if he tried...
This is to say of course he isn't better than Messi and Ronaldo but on the whole his effort on the pitch can't be questioned that much.
Our recent attacking signings have included Giroud, Park, Gervinho and Chamakh and people are crying because we are linked with Rooney???
SAF, I'm not slating him as a player at Man U. But at Man U he had SAF and a general bullish atmosphere to keep him in check as much as possible.
Things are a little more laissez-faire at Arsenal, there is little shouting done at players. We require a certain type of personality at the club one with maturity and powers of self-motivation. Rooney doesn't tick either of those boxes for me.
supersized McTriple Cheeseburgers
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
He would be disillusioned at your inability to compete for trophies * but if he was part of a few signings that made your team competitive with the top teams and was given a central role in your team (not the utility guy) he would keep himself motivated I am sure...
