United probably wouldn't want to sell him so cheaply to their league rivals though. Still, at 10m, he'd be worth a punt.

Straight swap for Bale?

Dill

Can only assume he's been offered abroad for 10m. As you say, well worth a punt at that price though.

Bargain of the century. Our board are clueless.

Would we want to spend over 10m for a position where we already have Lennon, though? It might just make sense to use that money where it's most needed, either up front or in central midfield.

Kags, is it better or worse than Berba leaving for 4m

posted on 10/6/13

Worse.

We had good strikers when Berba left and still do. Valencia and Young are hopeless. We should be doing everything we can to get Nani signed on, fully fit and give him a fair crack of the whip again under a manager that doesn't have an agenda against him. I'd rather do that than sell him for peanuts and watch another team get the best out of him while we blast 30m on some unproven kid.

honestly Nani drives me absolutely mad and he doesnt even play for spurs. i can imagine him driving me up the wall as a spurs player.

wage demands are surely huge too.

avoid.

Don't think he'd be a hit at Spurs anyway, especially after what he did to Gomes/playing to the whistle

that was just gomes being a plank. thank God we dont have him in goal any more

I read about Nani in the paper yesterday and wondered whether he'd be worth a punt, although i imagine his wage demands would massively stand in the way.

Competition for Lennon would be excellent and when Lennon isn't on form, he will give us that much needed width when Bale is playing through the middle.

As a player he would be a superb signing, although i imagine there are bigger fish out there who would be front line for his signature.

I can't believe some fans actually want this at our club

If they're willing to sell domestically for 10mil euros then not buying him would be incredibly stupid.

He'd be a big improvement and easily start for every club barring Chelsea and possibly City.

Nani is a player who would improve our first XI, not just the squad, which i think is also a very important point to make.

I certainly would not be against signing him.....

Nani for 10 million would be brilliant. Ain't gonna happen though is it

Everyone's talking about him competing with Lennon, but wouldn't he be able to come in and play from the left?

Better than Sigs or Dempsey in that position surely?

I think he prefers the right, hence some his sulking at United. Lennon & Nani swapping wings with Bale in the middle.. tasty

Few players leave Utd and are any good again. He was pretty poor in the last 1 or 2 seasons for United. So imagine whether he'd be up for it at Spurs?

"Few players leave Utd and are any good again."

I think that's a bit of a myth

they only tend to sell kids who won't make it as first teamers and players on their last legs

Beckham, Stam, Ronaldo, Tevez, Pique, Forlan, Pogba, PNeville, Berbatov, and Howard all did very well after leaving.

The other outs were all failing at United or destined for retirement within a couple of years anyway

=====================

Was going to say the same thing. For every failure you could name a big success.

I just cant see Nani wanting to join a club outside of the CL. And this is where that old debate comes into play about "Winning a trophy vs playing in the CL", where fans generally want a trophy, the players we might want to attract mostly want CL footy.
