I'd be distraught

Digby u xbox or ps3 cod players?
xbox, not out of choice, but mi5 say Im Britains last hope with the terrorists watching me
Microsoft brainwashed you to buy Xbox products over Sony the saints, Sony wouldn't ever dream of adding such features like charging money for online usage, no no no no no.
I bet the money for xbox live goes straight to the terrorists too
Sony are all about the pure hardcore gaming y0, don't let the PSFanboys old ideology that they preferred a more well rounded console that could offer more than just a gaming experience in the PS3 lead you to believe they're fickle
Sir digby, I think u should work 4 MI6! Or are u already?
Digby, you're actually quite funny, I personally don't think kinect will be watching anyone, my main gripes is having to pay for it, the games on it are a load of shiiiite, it should have been optional.
Also what's the deal when you pay around £50 for a game, realise it's a pile poo, as many games are, are you gonna be able to sell it to anyone else than a friend on your friends list?
It depends on the publisher Hombre. They decide whether or not you can resell your games to friends or shops, and which shops you can resell them too. Xbox won't decide.
I'm confused, if they were saying you can only lend a game to one friend, how can you sell it to a stranger?
Did Microsoft and Sony say whether their machines can be chipped to play pirated games? This would be a very useful feature.

-----------------------------
I very much agree with this, its a load of crap at the moment, I just hope they have some sort of plans to make it good, only current good use for it currently is vocal commands on madden, but I dont think that works in the UK yet
SirDigby, are you going for an Xbox or PS4?
Put it this way, with what happened at E3, a very large slice of Microsofts fanbase will be jumping ship to Sony, and if that is the case, surely the developers will be producing games for the biggest market?
So what I'm saying is, the games go where the consumers go, if this jumping ship becomes a metaphorical tidal wave, you may as well swim with it.
Also, I think it is naive to assume that you can't possibly be spied on if you are connected to the internet.
And sure, MS probably won't be 'spying' on you, per se, but it is the principle
I will go where I decide to with all my mates (which will probably be xbox but i dunno) none of us will be buying them for a good few months so will see closer to the time, Personally I prefer the xbox exclusives. The biggest games will always be on both
And if most of the crap kids who ruin games will get suckered in by twitter and all get a playstation then its even more of a reason for me to get an xbox.
This will not be a tidal wave for the xbox at all, its not the end for the xbox as some people think
just gunna ignore your last 4 lines as its pointless
*tidal wave for sony at all
I did say if, and check around forums, sure it's all words and no actions of yet, but you'll find so so many stating they have an Xbox and will be switching to PS4.
What I'm saying is, if as the forums suggest, andf these people will hold true to their word, it will be a tidal wave.
MS are going to struggle is they lose their core gamer fanbase, and a good indicator of that base is essentially those who trawl the interwebs to see what everyone is talking about when it comes to gaming.
People are switching on principle, it is a big deal as much as you don't think it really is Digby
anyone who thinks like that is stupid, if they really were that worried then they wouldn't have the internet.

Why is it? It's the only way to prevent setting a precedent from these companies. If nobody buys into these DRM restrictions then the company will remove it.
If everybody buys into it, then the restrictions over time will get tighter.
The original PS3 was allowed to play PS2 games, and gamers loved that, then it was taken away with newer PS3 versions, people moaned about it, but gamers continued to buy the system, so Sony carries on with the policy.
The same will most likely happen in the future with DRM policies, and the only way a consumer can try to stop this is by not buying into it. Again, the principle
Sure right now the X1 requires you connect once a day, some people are fine with it, in fact many are, but what if nobody is bothered about it? MS further down the line may go and say, you know what, the X1 requires an internet connection all the time no matter what. You can't share games anymore either etc. etc.
Yes it's hypothetical, but the DRM restrictions of today weren't in place 5 years ago, and here we are with them today
you know sony could have the exact same policy on pre-owned games right?
xbox have cpme out and confirmed, sony have kept quiet and mocked xbox without saying anything about themselves
