To be fair. All three teams chasing the CL spots were the three form teams for the last couple of months of the season. I think a gentlemen's agreement to chuck City out of the CL would benefit mankind. After all they have done nothing but embarrass themselves in their two seasons in the CL. Spurs did quite well

The target is Champions League

====================

No its not. Its not even anythin to do with CL. It doesn't matter if you get a lollipop for finishing 4th or a lollipo for finishing 5th.

Finishing 4th with alillipop is still better than 5th with a lollipop.

I think the europa league had a massive affect on spurs towards the end of the season. After both legs of the Inter milan games they lost to liverpool and fulham and after the first leg against basel they drawed to everton and the loss of sandro i think played it's part

I am not faulting him for his opinion, everyone is entitled to one. I am questing his justification he uses to beat down anyone who disagrees with him.

Fair enough.

Personally I think the truth for you guys is somewhere between the two.

I think some of his signings haven't been as good as some would like to make out i.e. Sigurdsson doesn't look like the same player as last year, Dempsey has lost his goalscoring form from Fulham, and Holtby is young but hasn't done great.

No idea why VDV was sold, seems like a poor call in hindsight.

On the plus side, he's got the best out of Bale, more points than last year, and I don't think there is much doubt the club is moving in the right direction

chicken is a decent poster who i like, but very stubborn

Since he believes we have regressed under AVB, I presume he thinks we also regressed under Harry, when we reached the Champions League in 2010 but failed to achieve that targer in 2011 and 2012...

I do like chicken, and enjoy reading all his debates but i do feel he is unjust on him rational towards avb.

Personally I think it is pretty equal between both harry and avb. progress in some places.

__________

Siggs has been unfortunate at times but was attrocious at the start and I think he looked better than he was at Swansea due to the team being built around him.

VDV was sold because he wanted to move closer to his wife. Good decision by him and the club...

Chicken has been consitent in his crticism of AVB, others on here have praised and doubted him over the last season.

You can't judge a manager on a single season, not fairly, time will tell. There is an opportunity this season to make or break his reputation what with the managerial changes at 3 of the clubs you are chasing.

Maybe AVB will be best judged after this next season, good luck to him.

-------

the point i raised earlier is that even if you are not sure about AVB, this season he has done enough to deserve both the benefit of the doubt, and another season to prove himself, as i think overall he has done quite well. chicken wont even give him the benefit of the doubt. which is a bit sad/pathetic.

I think consistent isn't what a poster should be when evaluating players/managers it is fair.

Otherwise to be consistent of everyones opinions of Bale when he came to Spurs. He is a bit sheit. As a player/manager progresses he develops for the better or worse. No consistency can give an accurate opinion on this.

================

I think i have been consistent overall. And inconsistencies is the thing that gets my goat the most.

Chronic, for example, claimed that unless Mourinho finishes at least 3rd and wins a european trophy in 2013-2014 season then he would have failed (because of what RB achieved last season) - yet we all know his opinions on AVB finishing 5th (from 4th).

This opinion couldnt be any more inconsistent. Two different boards, same scenario, 2 different opinions. And thats what i just cannot do. If i believe one scenario to be true on our board, then i apply it to the same situation on another.
