Interesting. Can't see us spending 8-10m on a back-up and I can't see Reina sitting on the bench, but with the news that Valdes is staying with Barca next season it does beg the question of what next for Pepe?
Unless we allow Mignolet to remain out on loan until next year when Reina goes to Barca?

Think Mignolet is decent, and has potential. But yeah, can't see pepe on the bench. That loan move for Mignolet is a good shout though.

Don't think there's much in this, Reina has said he will only leave for Barca an Valdes has said that he's staying at Barca for another year. As well Reina had 16 Clean Sheets is the prem last season(I think) only behind Hart and joint with De Gea so I don't really want him to leave.

If you are, then you must be off your rocker. Mignolet was one of the best keepers in the league last season and has at least a good 12/13 years in him. If you get him for £10m, it will be well worth it. Very good keeper with potential to improve.

How do you work that out? He's a good young keeper with 3 years premier league expo behind him. Jesus, Sunderland paid 9m for Craig Gordon!

Mignolet has been better than Reina for the last two seasons. He is an upgrade. Very consistent, solid 'keeper, I truly cannot believe how some of you are complaining about this.
He's a reliable keeper and to be fair bar Reina we are relegation material in the goalkeeping department.
So we value him at 6m but will end up paying 10m? and that's not being shafted?
So all this bs about not paying over the odds anymore was a load of sheet then.
Yeah hes good, just reina is better, hope hes not a replacement :/ good shot stopper but lacking in other departments

Tbf if he can save with his feet and catch a ball theres 2 departments hes better in.
yeah pepe is so crap he was joint second in the cleansheets table in a team that came 7th
10 million for mingolet is a great deal, young, experienced, commanding well worth buying.
Only second behind his compatriot juan sheet.
People forget reina is nowhere near what he used to be, forget sentiment; the truth is there are better kepers than him now and mignolet is one of them.
To sum it up, reina has lost his edge.
