Yes he had a poor season in the racist league last year, didn't settle in very well. But his record at Porto when used correctly is amazing from the wing.

His international record this time last year was very good, so I think his league performances have been affecting his international performances.

If we buy him to play a similar role to what Sturridge played then he would be an excellent buy.

I would have had him over schrulle, but now that we have schrulle I doubt we will go in for Hulk.

I don't see how you could happy to buy Hulk for 35m when we bought Hazard for 32m, Mata for 24m.

I quite like Hulk but is is a 20m player absolute max.

If you take out his last season, I think he is worth £35mill. He did have some excellent seasons with Porto, plus I think his marketing value is quite high, and that does count towards the transfer fee.

I still am undecided over Hulk,he could be an absolute revelation ,hustling and bustling in around our ball players in the final third,or he could b....er everything up !Maybe Jose knows him better than us ?

I have always stated that he is over rated. Some fans here think that he is the be all and end all of all our problems and signing him would make us an unstoppable force.

The only good thing signing him would be that fans can have kits saying Hulk (which always sounds cool) and also the 'Hulk Smash'.

He is not worth 35 million. That would mean he is considerably better or equal to Hazard and Mata, which he is not.

Anybody can look amazing in Porto, its basically a one horse league with Benfica putting up a challenge once in a while. Irrespective of who plays for them, they do well they even went unbeaten this year.

How can you take out someones last season when valuing them?..

Because I understand the problems he may have gone through last season settling into a league where he was getting racially abused.

His bad season means we can get him cheaper than last year. I would like to see him at Chelsea I think he is quality. But now that we have Schrulle I think other areas need to be addressed.

So many good players from so many crap leagues come through to dominate in other leagues.

Anyone who thinks hulk is rubbish is clueless.

In the 3 seasons before he left Porto, only Messi and Ronaldo provided more goals and assists combined in any of the top European leagues.

There's always this talk about transfer fees, but fee's don't always directly represent talent do they. Torres cost more than twice what Drogba did, does that mean he was expected to be twice as good?

RVP cost less than Rooney, did they think he just wasn't as good?

Many things contribute to a transfer fee, but at the end if the day, it's more about whether or not a player would improve our team. Hulk certainly would improve us.

Saying that, I didn't think we'll sign him after signing Schurrle.
