Mancienne, there´s a name from the past.

Haven´t heard anything about him since he left Chelsea.

Is he really England standard ?

Wow, he's 25 already!

I do like how he took a slightly different route abroad, that most other young English footballers would never consider in their plans for 'making it'. From what I've heard he's just been average for Hamburg, nothing special.

Pleased that he decided to go to the Bundesliga instead of just deciding to drop down to the Championship like most other young British players would.
Always looked like a gifted footballer, just not the best defender whenever I saw him play for England U21s.

Bad bad player, very inept.
Shocked that we were able to get £2m+ for him from Hamburg.
Thank you Arnesen.

Not ever going to get a call up, that I am sure of.

Even if he was good enough to get called up Woy aint going to pay the slightest attention to someone playing abroad

He has actually got an England cap hasn't he?

He is up there with the worst players to get an England cap. David Nugent

Some other features on him. I also think because it is such an anomaly having a young British player abroad they get overhyped slightly eg. that 3rd article saying why he deserves an England call-up.

Eric Dier has recieved a lot of attention as he has come through the Sporting Lisbon academy but is an English citizen, again, he's not as good as the hype around him deserved.

Another one is Antonio Pedroza. It was quite weird, a couple of years ago it was like the newspapers came across by chance this English-Mexican striker who was playing in the 2nd tier league in Mexico. For a few weeks suddenly he is being linked with Chelsea and getting linked to an England youth call-up, to eventually become 'the nation's Hernandez' (Daily Mail's words).

I guess after those few weeks they realised he was just a striker from the Mexican 2nd league

People seem obsessed with the idea that an English player can play abroad (meaning just about anywhere except Britain or Ireland) and all of a sudden they are going to be far better than any footballer who plays in England...

Actually I've just rechecked the last guy, Crystal Palace have signed him and he spent the last year on loan to a team that are actually in the Top Mexican League Get this guy a call up

a few weeks ago everyone is saying the German league is the strongest in the world bla bla bla.

He has had a good season playing in this so called greatest league in the world surely that warrants a call up. I do have to say that Englad does have quite alot of defensive talent Phil Jones being the best of new younger lot.
