Nah. We know what he brings to the game. He obviously does not want to be tied to the club. It is also a gamble on his side. If he has another end of season injury he could come unstuck. Fair deal allround seeing as he could of gone to Spain.
He isn't our Mr Bean though as you seem to suggest though vidal.
As for Sharp. Really cannot see us going for him. We have Henderson, Cox, Blackstock and Tudgay. There is still Miller and Derbycrap (both supossed to be forwards) and Greening to get rid of amongst others so I would think our priority is a Central defender and a couple of wingers
On the one year deal my theory is we've offered him a one year deal with an option for either party to extend if we get promoted. Might have been our way of tempting him back for one more crack at promotion with us. No risk for him if we dont go up. And no financial risk for us with FFP getting even tighter next year if we dont go up and/or he gets a long term injury etc.
with FFP we may well see a lot more deals with various options / performance related clauses etc. coming in
Sorry, Lloyd, I pressed "send" too early yesterday. What I meant to say was: "Jara won't come to Forest unless he's absolutely desperate and the Spanish thing falls through, in which case if he has no other option other than the dole he will reluctantly agree just one flippin' season back at Forest."
Hope that clears it up.
Do you ever get tired of being made to look foolish?
I don't view it in quite that way, Lloyd.
On an unrelated topic, have you found your sense of humour yet? It seems to have been missing for quite a long while now.
Hearing press reports from various sources that Reading have had an offer of £1.2m accepted for Billy Sharp. It's been dragging on a bit too long, but hope it isn't true. Really thought we should do everything we could to sign him up. Hopefully we're looking to get another goalscorer in, but not sure there's anyone out there as good as him at this level.
Honestly I'm surprised at the clamour for Sharp, he's either on form or totally off it. Looks good when SO'D is in charge but wasn't starting regularly once BD came back so would be amazed if he's even a target.
I'm pretty sure that with this being a World Cup year Jara would want to ensure that he's playing regularly otherwise I'm sure he'd be off to a Spanish team to be a squad player. Hope that's the case as it'll mean he'll be keen to impress.
And hopefully not over-keen to avoid injury.
Sharp just said don't believe what you readi n the papers about him joining Reading as he said his loan at Forest has finished but still 2 years left at Southampton. So he probably isn't going there....yet anyway.
I would like him to come back, he is a quality striker and with the right delivery he will bag you the goals, as remember he was still our top goalscorer.
Also with Reyes and Lichaj they are good signings and I am happy about it, just need a CB, 2 Wingers and an out and out goalscorer now!

Vidal, you're boring, but you're free to go back to YOUR board and talk about YOUR team where you can entertain all your sheep friends with that wit and humour you so proudly exhibit. Perhaps they will celebrate it more than we do.

I give you credit for the spin. You can admit that it's more interesting on here now that Derby have spent their entire transfer budget on a Scottish bloke nobody has ever heard of.
That was just before BD joined and wasn't smart. I'm surprised BD didn't like him though as he seems like the type he would. No frills, hard working, McKenna-lite.
I'm sure someone will take him off our hands if he isn't in our plans though unlike players like Greening, Derbyshire, etc. Not sure what will happen with Miller, I keep forgetting he's our player but don't see him getting much of a game especially now we have Henderson.
I know what you mean Lloyd but McKenna>Gillett by a long way.
Gillett is the forgotten man. He is firmly behind Guedioura in the queue for the holdig midfielder role at the moment but pre-season can be funny. I reckon he might still have a future at Forest.
I'm sure SOD would have gone for him in a heartbeat at Brizzle had they not been relegated.
Gillett was doing OK under SOD, and a lot of Forest fans were saying he was our best player for a while, so I'm surprised there's a lot of criticism of him when he is a competent back up for Guedioura. I can see Billy Davies using him in the future.
Also, I don't think Sharp is out of the picture, and if Southampton don't want him then I'll be surprised if he ISN'T a Forest player next season.
FAF, Gillett can do a job no doubt. Can be quite tidy and wants the ball from the CBs. When we played well at the beginning of the season he linked the team together well. But he is too weak in the tackle for a DM that has no creativity. Pep can be a playmaker from DM but Gillett is too one dimensional for me.
There's a good article about how teams found that by pressing high and tucking the fullbacks in were hadn't got the width to create. Guedioura could play when he gets pressured, Gillett wasn't good enough.
