Excellent. Hope he gets chances in the team from the off.
Look forward to seeing him in preseason.
Apparantly it was Brendans most important target?
Don't know much about him, but I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do in the red shirt.
Most important young target?
Im not as concerned as many others about him being a 'propect' Coutinho was also brought in as a prospect.
However i have heard us being labelled the new Arsenal when it comes to too many young players - it never worked out for them, but i think if it does work, it will give us longer term success. Happy with it so far, I guess ask me again in 5 years.
Not too sure on that Ayre quote at being the top target in his position - does this mean metal mhky aint coming?
Can't see this having any impact on the Mkhi saga. Although his ownership issues have complicated the deal. Hopefully we'll sort it though.
Watch this kid on utube last night, looked awesome!!!!!
The chances of us signing Mkhitaryan are not as high as some think in my opinion, but let's see.
Our new home kit is sweet

Coutinho has had several regular spells at the highest level in European football since 2010. He just didn't immediately fulfil the earlier promise he'd shown. This guy doesn't make Sevilla's bench. The cases aren't remotely comparable.
That's not to say he won't succeed though.

my understanding (which is probably wrong) is that we have agreed in principal with the 3rd party who owns him, but the club he plays for don't want to sell him (maybe they are just trying to up the price?) as they see him as an important player for them.
i also heard the player wants to come, so if he is as keen as allegedly made out he could put in a transfer request, trouble is that may lead to other clubs showing interest.
this wouldn't also be tied to trying to get rid of Downing first would it?, although i have heard its not.
Is that the new training kit?
I think Mkhitaryan will only happen when Suarez is sold. How else are we going to pluck £20m when we are not in Europe and still pay CL club wages?

Jenners they also said that when we bought Suarez saying that he was bought to play with Torres when it was proven that Torres was looking to leave the summer before he left.
but they put up the funds with the knowledge or hope that he would play with Torres.
don't know how much they knew about the transfer request being put in, but we didn't need to sell Torres to buy Suarez first.
maybe the same situation this time round, but hope Suarez stays.
It dejavu to me. Suarez in his interview said that the club were made aware that he wants to leave England before he set off to South America. The club new they would get a minimum £40m for him and then for some bizarre reason leaked that Mkhitaryan signing has nothing to do with Suarez situation and now there is a hold up
The same thing happened when we signed Suarez as the club new Torres was a goner so made the purchase knowing that Chelsea were coming in big for Torres.
ok lets assume the club was aware even though they made a statement saying neither Luis or his agent told them this was the feelings.
why are you trying to link it to the Myri deal, when we know its 3rd party ownership that's the issue?
also do the club if they allegedly know he wants out, know that Real are prepared to pay what we want?
be silly trying to sign a £20 mill odd player if we cant fund it as relying on the sale of another.
Carroll gone, shelvey hopefully, thats £22 mill ish in plus the £20 mill allegedly available.
all seems to balance to me without the need to sell Suarez.
and that's not including other players we will at least try and get rid of like Downing etc.
you cant say coutinho was a prospect. He'd already played 40 top flight games for inter and espanyol and he's a year younger than alberto. alberto's only played 7 so is far less unproven. Doesn't mean he's a bad player but more of a gamble
The key thing for me is his versatility (assuming he is as versatile as is made out).
It is claimed he can play anywhere across the front. It's always handy to have players in a squad who can perform in various positions.
His record in the 2nd tier is very good, particularly on assists (more assists than anyone in our Championship for example).
The fact that Barca didn't sign him and Sevilla didn't play him doesn't worry me. History is littered with top players who didn't make it at one team for one reason or another.
Looking forward to seeing him in pre-season and how he fits in.
