Really looking forward to this, it'll be the first time I see Golovkin in action!
What time does the fight start mate?
It is in Connecticut which is on the east coast, so it will be on earlier than a Vegas fight, 2-3am i'm guessing.
good stuff.
Has Golovkin ever gone up/down a division to fight an opponent?

The weigh in.
Btw D4 is Andre Ward any good? He's rated very highly by many. Is he on the same level as Martinez and Golovkin?
Golovkin fought all his career a middleweight, he has offered to come down to light-middle to fight Floyd, but Floyd don't want to know.
He would destroy Floyd IMO.
He could fight Martinez who the lineal champion at middleweight next, which could be a very interesting fight but, Martinez seems past his best and on the decline and is look to get the winner of Mayweather vs Martinez for a big pay before retirement.
There is talk he could step up and face Andre Ward or maybe Carl Froch, but he has still has stuff to do at the lighter weight IMO and should get that done before stepping up.
Andre Ward, the best current super middleweight out there at the moment, can't deny his skills, lack power though, is a spoiler and doesn't travel and like to hold all the advantages in a fight.
Got an article in mind, that will explain my view on the super middle situation better, but have not got round to written it.

Golokin highlight reel.
Do you think Golovkin could step up a division to beat Ward?
Also who would you fancy out of Golovkin and Martinez?
The welterweight and middleweight divisions have so many good fighters atm, so many good match ups can be made.
I'd like to see Cotto fight Golovkin or Martinez. Canelo as well.
Ward can dominate fighters on the inside and the outside.
The next P4P number one and has dominated everyone who has got in the ring with him.
Golovkin vs Ward could be a good match up, Ward has a tricky style would be a interesting match up. Golovkin needs a bit more experience IMO.
GGG would destroy Cotto at 154lb, too much of a size advantage. Cotto is not a big light-middle.
Martinez would beat Cotto too IMO.
Canelo is a big light middle and will probably step up to middleweight at some time in his career and could face Golovkin or Martinez but I think GGG beats him by KO, Matinez fight could be interesting, only because Martinez is on the slide.
Good fight this. Both like to throw punches from the off. Macklins problem has always been his fitness in the latter rounds when he allows fighers to overtake him so hopefully he doesn't go gun ho from the off and use his brains as after all as good as Golo is this is his first real fight against a genuine class middleweight.
Cotto isn't effective at 154lbs.
His was a great fighter at 140lbs and a very good one at 147lbs. Both Cotto and Martinez are on the slide imo. Still great fighters (especially Martinez), but both are past their respective peaks.
Cotto best weight was 147lbs for me, he showed his best skills, with his best wins and was in his physical prime at that weight.
Shame what happened with the Margarito fight.
He did kill himself to make 140lbs, but at that weight he was an absolute monster. At the time when the Hatton hype was in full swing he flew under the radar a bit in this country, but I have no doubt that at this weight Cotto was the best on the planet.
Just watching the Khan vs Judah fight...
How's Golovkin's defence btw? Does he get hit often? How's his chin?
It is OK, he does get hit with some big shots, but his chin is granite, never seen him hurt.
Claims he has never been dropped or hurt in sparring and he spars with heavys.
Nice. Just finished watching the Khan - Judah fight btw. Do you think Khan's KO hit was below the waist? Should it have stood?
Might watch a few Golovkin fights later to warm up for tonight's one
It wasn't a low blow.
Judah was getting beat up, couldn't lay a glove on Khan, didn't want to take a beating for 12 rounds and was looking for a way out.
Golovkin's last 3 fights are decent to watch.
Proska
Ishida
Rosado
I'll give one of those a watch D4.
Who is the biggest name/toughest fighter he has beaten? Is there a reason he hasn't had a 'big' fights yet?
Jus started making a name for himself, last 3 fights were in the states.
I have sparred with a boxer that dropped a SD against a guy who gave the number one ranked middleweight in the world his toughest fight in years.
^^ elaborate on that boss.
What's an SD, and who's the number one ranked middleweight in the world?
