Not for me, by far his best achievement was the ko over Williams which was just a great knockout.

Pavlik was already a broken man when they met and his struggles against various average to good boxers for me sums him up.

Very good, but never up there with the very best.

Mayweather is a title holder at light middle, if he should beat Canelo he will be lineal championship of the division.

Golovkin is willing to come down to light middleweight for the fight and will be the best at the weight, so why shouldn't Mayweather fight him?

Martinez is a old man now at 40.

Martinez is a class fighter, a light middle fighting at middle weight because no one would fight him at light.

But as good and as great as Martinez was/is Golovkin beats him now.

Martinez is finished - he looked terrible in argentina. GGG will KO him. Middleweight champion is all GGG

I think GGG would have beaten a prime Martinez. Martinez doesn't have the legs now to get distance from GGG. Martinez needs to have one or two money fights and retire.

RGK, would Golovkin beat Ward if he moved up to fight him? What about Froch?

And would he beat that Floyd if he moved down and Floyd accepted to fight him?

Kamran,

What did you think about the Golovkin fight? How do you rate him as a fighter?

D4, he looked like an absolute animal, but I'm not sure about the quality of Macklin, so it's hard to form a proper opinion on Golovkin's quality.

He looks unbelievable though. He started off a bit slowly, but after a minute or two, there looked like there was only gonna be one winner. Even the punches that are blocked has an impact on his opposition, it seems.

Where's he been all this time?!

Look forward to seeing more of him.

So when Golovkin beats Martinez, you say Martinez wasn't fit,.

Gotcha

He's been in Kazakhstan and in Europe fighting.

Followed his fights for a couple of years now and I was impressed from the word go.

Some boxers live of their hype and marketability and and get recognition beyond their ring performances deserve.

But Golovkin has done things the hard way, has to work his way up and is starting to get the plaudits his talents deserve.

He might fight again as soon as August then again in November.

Macklin is a very good boxer, he should have been world champion already, many thought he beat Sturm in there fight.

Gave Sergio Martinez a hard fight, putting him down early before getting stopped in the 11th.

Golovkin is not just about power, it is easy to buy into that, and the casual fans may just think the guy is a big hitting brawler.

Far from it, he is an excellent boxer, great footwork, feints, great shot selection, a great jab and is an intelligent boxer.

The knockdown for Macklin against Martinez was a flash knockdown though.

Macklin was very much in fight going into the championship rounds and a flash knock down is still a legit knockdown.

Macklin landed a punch and Martinez's glove touched the canvas.

Martinez was/is considered and nailed on top 5 p4p in the world and, Macklin gave him a tough fight.

I've seen Martinez and Golovkin fight once each, and Golovkin has impressed me more tbh. He seems to destroy everything he touches, Martinez gets hit quite a lot so I'd fancy Golovkin from the little I've seen of both.

Was the latest the only fight you've of Martinez? If, yes, then you've seen nothing from him.

It's the only one I've seen live. Murray deserved at least a draw imo. I've seen 4 or 5 full fights of his on youtube though.

Ah right, yes. Fair enough.

I watched his fight against Chavez a while back, he looked brilliant in that one. Seen his fights against a few low profile fighters as well

IMHO GGG is a better boxer than martinez - GGG has superior tactics and better mechanics. GGG could be top echelon alongside Mayweather and Ward

Martinez would beat Mayweather as well.

Floyd said he would only fight him at 150lbs.

Think Mayweather is related to Dracula.

Still crowing on about Mayweather. Biggest groupie out there.
You're just advertising his name to people who haven't heard of him.
Keep it up.
