True.

Ouma is probably winning the fight so far imo...

They've both got chins of steel.

I see Ouma has lost 7 fights...if he fought like he did in this fight every time, he wouldn't have that many...

Btw I see GGG had a few 4 round fights early on in his career, wtf is that about??

And why were most of his fights in Germany? He got a lot of fans there?

posted on 5/7/13

Ouma was a former light middleweight champ, not even a prime Jermain Taylor could stop him.

Why do 4 round fights happen mate?? Is that at amateur level or something?

posted on 5/7/13

Most early fights are 4 rounders for fighters.

He's fighting like a brawler in this fight.

I can see why Floyd wouldn't fight him, even at 154 he would be too big for Floyd. He would put the mouthy to sleep with ease

Wow, Ouma took one hell of a beating in those last two rounds. GGG wears you down like there's no tomorrow. He's got an unbelievable engine on him. Never tires.

Btw according to wikipedia that Taylor guy beat Ouma...

Taylor beat him but did not stop him.

Ouma was hospitalised after the fight.

Watching this now.

Would Taylor in his prime beat GGG? Never even heard of him.

I'll watch that in a sec Dubbed.

Heard great things about Matthysse.

Am I right in saying right handed boxers are 'orthodox'? That means they jab with their weaker hand (left), init? Do any boxers jab with their strong hand? And if so, are they still 'orthodox'?

posted on 5/7/13

Orthodox is basically a right footed player in football for example. While Southpaw's power hand is his left.

Being southpaw is quite a gift as most of the people you face are used to orthodox.
It changes up the angles of the attack.

posted on 5/7/13

I see. So nobody uses their power hand to jab?

That Ajose guy got destroyed btw. Deserved it just for having such a bad haircut

Matthysse looks beast.

???

Orthodox, southpaw is to do with the stance, not what handed a fighter is.

And a few fighters use their power hand as the jab hand.

posted on 5/7/13

Aaah right, makes sense now.

Any top fighters who use their weaker hand to jab? Name a few please?

Also who's Peter Quillin? I notice that he's still unbeaten and a middleweight...potentially Golovkin's next fight? Is he any good?

posted on 5/7/13

stronger hand* to jab I meant

posted on 5/7/13

Quillin, good fighter, uses a philly shell defence like Mayweather but is more of a attacking fighter.

posted on 5/7/13

Would he stand a chance against GGG? And has he beaten any 'big' names?

posted on 5/7/13

Frazier, orthodox fighter but naturally left handed.

Ortiz the opposite way round.

posted on 5/7/13

I see.

One more silly question before I go for a dump...how exactly does the scoring system work during fights? Like you know some fights are 10-9, or 10-8..how do they calculate those? Why is it always a '10' and why is it never below an '8'?

"Orthodox, southpaw is to do with the stance, not what handed a fighter is. "

Is this clown serious?

Kamran just research it yourself. No point asking asking around with guys like this around.
