Going to Watford apparently!

LER

I am pretty gutted if I am honest. Nothing I enjoy more than seeing a local lad playing for us!!

Can see this coming back to bite us!

Mistake if it's true. especially if he's going to a promotion rival. Seems like not all the stupidity has gone from the Forest board

Taylor says it's true. I'm gutted. I know he doesn't turn up often enough, but my favourite player in the squad on his day.

In all honesty, though, we need to lose some central mids so someone had to go.

According to the evening post we offered him a new contract but he chose to go to Watford. I must admit, I'm a bit puzzled with his decision to go there when there were prem clubs chasing him as well, albeit Cardiff!

Well I didn't see one mention of us offering him a contract!? We have offered Tudgay one and he is still deciding, hence why he is still on the website!!

If he has gone to a promotion rival for free then it is very poor business

Gets to play under Zola. Lot of people's hero if they grew up in that era.

Not saying that's enough to get him there, but it's an attractive proposition. Plus, Lewis knows he's at his best when played game after game and he knows that wouldn't happen here.

Still fearful that this is a big mistake -- where we gonna get goals from at the minute. We just sold the last goalscorer in the squad, so some best be coming in.

Agreed SHH. I think he has been unfortunate in his contract expiring and us still having decent earners on the books like Greening and Moussi.

FFP could be at the forefront of the owners mind but still a poor decision

"The 24-year-old had a number of offers on the table, including that option to stay at Forest."

So much for Watford's transfer embargo until the start of September. Their punishment for financial irregularities which the league said should have brought a points deduction has been - nothing.

I reckon they got round it coz he's a free agent jacko.

Dont think we should be too bothered. We needed to free up midfield a bit but we did offer him a contract which he turned down. He had ideas above his effort return so he prob thought Premiership teams would come sniffing which they obviously didnt. His lack of effort meant we couldnt afford to keep him despite his odd worldy goal once every 4 or 5 games! We're better served with Guediora, Lansbury, Cohen, Raddi axis with Moussi as back up and two out and out wingers with Reidy also able to mix in the midfield area and McLaughlin and Patterson offering the width and speed. 8 good options there for a midfield 4 or 5! Not too mention Greening is still with us....

It is a shame to see him go but let's be honest he was never going to be a regular starter. He's great off the bench but for 5-6 years now he's had chances to prove himself and it hasn't happened. I think he'll go to Watford and find he can't get himself in the starting 11 there either. He's a luxury player and they have better in the AM position. He doesn't move the ball quick enough to play CM.

Good lukc to him though, scored some important goals last season and has scored some crackers over the years.

Exactly what I was going to say. He's been truly great in spells, but he never stepped up to the level we were all expecting. Maybe Zola can get that from him.

Glad we've freed up the wage bill abit in all fairness.

He's a super-sub but thats it. Would rather have the likes of geddy or lansbury that make a difference over the 90-5+ mins. The only disappointing part is he left on a free.

I think the thing with McGugan is that he might kick on when he gets to a new team and feels wanted/refreshed. Could really show his worth next season. Hope not.

ACtually you know what, f uck him, he's walking away from the biggest club he'll ever play for, because he's as stupid as he is lazy.

He was a bit player rev.....

You could never start him as he would run out of steam after 25 mins.

He will think he is the big boy at Watford. Top dog etc.

No doubt he'll score against us though
