I think we all think that of Mr so. We were unlucky to lose but two bad goals to concede. Hartlepool first has been done to us before while I worried about Lewie's absent golden locks and wondered if he was going to be like Samson.
At least we fluked a goal in the end and when done Jabo. The oddest thing was the new players didn't seem to know Jabo's strengthens and while he wasn't playing as a target man when we came on, the still wouldn't play the ball up to him when he was.
I agree with Robbo we took our foot off the gas when we got to 1-1 and I liked Williams, he was spotting passes for Sammy the others couldn't see and I think they will get on the same wavelength.
Annoying yes! D'urso was a joke again! Got something for you lads i found on twitter; http://www.petitiononline.com/swfc08/petition.html its a petition to get D'urso sacked as a ref! haha.
It was not a bad game but not a classic, the need for a new RB and CB was made plain and clear today so hopefully we will get one by tuesday night or saturday. Williams was class today but is definatly not a CB, as Furz said some of the passes were very good.
I've signed it but I expect the Football League to be bloody minded and ignore the fact he is not fit for the job.
I will think bout signing it Murray, at the end of the day if we win it puts someone else out of employment in a difficult time for everyone, as much as I despise the twhat!
Williams did impress me, didnt look like we missed Peter Leven today in midfield but Sammy looks lost up front on his own! Not Jabo Ibehre's biggest fan (I didnt like him then I grew to like him after his 'goal flurry' of 2 goals in 2 games last season, then grew to dislike him again lol) but he made Sammy look a bit more aware today when he came on, equally impressed with Bowditch's confidence and movement today, glad we signed him as I did say I wanted him here!
I like Chicksen but imo he's a winger, not a right back or even a left back, he wont get first team on the left wing for a while so it must be frustrating, Chicky just isnt a defender at any role! Not having a pop but we just looked so poor today in defence despite Big Mack having a good match other than the second goal
I don't think you can blame Big Mac totally for the goal all the defenders can take the blame from Lewie losing the ball to Williams letting the attacker through as well.
MacKenzie was last defender and he backed off, striker couldnt believe his luck...It was down to him to make a tackle which he didnt do
If it comes down to a one to one the defence hasn't done their job which isn't to excuse MacKenzie but to accept there is always a chance the attacker can come up on top.
I'm not denying the defending was poor prior, Furz, just disappointed that McKenzie was in an ideal oppertunity to salvage a tackle..And...Well...Didn't...
I think we all are. A player to run half the pitch and for us not to get a tackle in was poor, including MacKenzie.
I agree it wasnt the best of defending but the ball should have been closed down in midfield and Williams should have done more! Not that it matters I thought Hartlepool were impressive, much better than a lot of us thought they would be.
About D'urso, the football league really should look into it, its also not fair we ALWAYS get him!!! At least he is consistant at one thing.... being rubbish!
My concern was not so much about the defence, but more about our attack. We clearly continue to lack someone with that killer instinct for goal - 20 plus per season. And this will cost us - as it did today - 2 points. Hope one of Robos signings will fill that gap
We scored 2 (one admittedly a fluke) and I think goals will come, but unless we get our defence sorted we will have to score a hatfull every game.
Congratulations to Bill on his 2-2
we did score 2 but made a meal of it, and had enough pressure on them to score 4. Its cheicken and egg, regarding defence. They look better than the early part of last year (time will tell), but even if we have a more solid defence, we do not seem to have the heavy fire power up front. We need at least one player who will knock in 20 over a season. With the rest of the support, should be able to beat anyone
Baldock up front on his own doesn't work..Deffo needs Bowditch upfront beside him imho
Afternoon everyone.
BBC stats says Dons had 13 shots with 8 on target, and Hartlepool 2.
So how did that finish 2-2?
Both Hartlepool's went in!!
