If they hadn't made that crystal skull rubbish it would be Indiana Jones, the first 3 are awesome films.

If you take the first 3 Star Wars films in isolation, which given the time difference is reasonable, then they should be up there too.

I never liked Godfather 3 btw. Just seemed a lacklustre compared to the first 2.

Do the last three Bond movies count as a trilogy ?

The best 007 films ever

Vittorio De Sica's 'Trilogy of Solitude'.

Shoeshine
Bicycle Thieves
Umberto D.

Incredible Italian neo-realism.

If you are talking in stand alone trilogies then Lord of the rings would have to be the one IMO

But the dark knight trilogy would be up there, the good and the bad and he ugly etc of course!

Has to be lord of the rings for me.

Godfather is a masterpiece but the 3rd film is a joke and ruins it in a trilogy sense

if you are of a certain age, the toy story trilogy has to be one that deserves a shout

The original Star Wars trilogy

The original Star Wars are definitely up there.

The newer Star Wars trilogy should also be up there, but unfortunately the Phantom Menace spoils it a bit, which is a shame because Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith are both brilliant.

I'd also say LOTR trilogy as well.

For me, Nolans Batman trilogy was on course to be legendary but the last one was very poor.

Indiana Jones one and three are great but Temple of Doom is weak.

Back to the Future films are all excellent even though number three isn't highly thought of.

I actually think Raimis Spiderman trilogy is v.good.

Part 3 got mauled by the critics but i enjoyed it

Easily the Lord of the Rings trilogy. All three were perfect. They were pretty much seen as one movie which is why the 3rd one carted off all the awards but the other 2 are just as good. Honourable mention to the Bourne movies. Other than these 2, most trilogies are often ruined by at least one of the films. Or like with Indiana Jones, a trilogy is ruined by adding a poor sequel to the existing brilliant 3.

I actually also liked the initial Pirates of the Carribean trilogy despite its much criticized convoluted plot. Johnny Depp's performances was one for the ages.

I actually thought the Dark Knight Rises was very good, was always going to be very difficult to follow Heath Ledger as the villain but I thought that Tom Hardy did a fantastic job as Bane.

So I'd throw the Christopher Nolan Batman Trilogy in for sure
