Somebody on Twitter (i know!) Has said Benteke has been shown around the training ground already...pinch of salt n all.

If this isn't a chance for us I don't know what is. Chelsea won't go for him and Arsenal are wrapped up with Higuain!

A part of me is thinking hallelujah brief panic over, then I think if he has 2 good seasons with us he will leave.

But...he surely has had some contact with someone for him to hand in a transfer request

i hate it when players hand in requests.

i was slaughtering modric for it - that little shiiiit, and just because benteke might come to spurs doesnt mean i am suddenly in favour of it.

that is a really poor way to treat aston villa, and he would do the same to us in a few years time.

I could see Benteke at spurs, surely having dembele and vertonghen would help the cause.

villa are trying to build a team round him, and he has been there one season. what a priiiick

i am in favour of benteke the player playing for spurs.. as long as all spurs fans accept that he will do what he did to villa to us as soon as he feels he is too good for us...

Im almost certain he handed a request in, maybe wrong though mate, I do feel for the villa fans, but it happens to every team whether its right or wrong.

He'll go to Arsenal anyway.

Lambert gave him his big break, and whilst Villa must be grateful that his goals saved them from relegation I think it really annoys supporters when players hand in transfer requests.

We don't mind players leaving, but when they submit transfer requests they see it as a way to drive their transfer-fee down and ensure they move on quicker. That's what annoys fans, they don't even have the respect to move away on good terms anymore.

Fernandinho went back to Ukraine just to spend a couple of hours saying goodbye to the Shakhtar fans: he leaves on good terms, he gets to play in a bigger league and the club weren't sold short with the transfer fee. Everything is done properly and everyone benefits.

the thing is that the same spurs fans who are ok with it now (if he comes to us - which i dont think he will), will be the same ones crying and swearing at him when he treats us like rubbish when he wants to move on.

after one season at villa he has handed in a request!!... has anyone ever done that before in the prem? i cant think of anyone who has done that after one season

the guy wants to play european football, who can blame him ffs.....

Wouldn't touch him, villa will want too much for what he's worth

if a bidding war starts then there is no point entering. there is no way we can outbid a chelsea, we probably cant even outbid liverpool.
