I hope if this doesn't come off (on the assumption we've bid) that we go equally aggressive for another top midfielder, a Gundogan, Modric type, or maybe even Matic or Fellaini as secondary options.
If Moyes meant his statement of always being in for the best players in the world, then you'd assume we would be targetting those type of targets Berbaking. Although I doubt Gundogan is under that category right now.
To be fair, if we're bidding publicly we must know something that makes us so confident.
That's not to say he'll definitely come but we must have some indication it's possible.
The thing here is cesc has said on numerous occasions he won't leave barca for a long time, if he did would only return to england for arsenal, and would definitely rule out signing for united, it's a complete non starter.

Common knowledge Arsenal have a 25m buy back clause and 50% sell on fee. Any club will have to bid 50m to match us. But dream on anyway you have no chance of Cesc.
-----
Buy back clause, probably.
50% sell on fee? No chance! pure balls
I'm not sure why my fellow Arsenal fans worship him, to be honest. The circumstances in which he left were acrimonious to say the least.
We won't sign Fabregas because Admin1 and Admin2 would get the European Court of Human Rights to block it for infringing on their rights regarding working conditions.
I honestly believe skysportsnews get some of their leads from this site.

We have 50% of the profit barca make on him and NOT the entire fees
I've noticed that Sky Sports News have removed the yellow ticker which stated this news, after only half-an-hour..... I call bullshīt.

You sold him for 25M I believe so if they sell to us for 35m you get 5M as they made 10m profit, correct?
No we sold him for £29mill.
Yes but im sure we sold him for 35 and barca are paying in installments. If Utd get him for 35 or less we get nothing

why are Utd wasting their time?
----------------------
Shouldn't that be, why are we wasting our time?
Got to love the little Freudian slips that confirms what everyone already suspects.
So 6 million profit means 3 million to Arsenal? It seems more plausible than a 50% reduction if they sold elsewhere, suprised Barca would agree to that.
I think this Fabregas one has more legs than the Thiago story, but I doubt Barca would sell both Thiago and Fabregas in the same window.
Can't help but feel we are wasting our time here.
And anyway, I think I would prefer to offer that sort of money to Juve/Dortmund for Vidal/Gundogan. 2 players who arguably suit us better and we are much more likely to get.
No one knows how much barc actually paid for him. Infact i dont remember the last arsenal transfer whether its a new signing or a departure that we knew the fees. Always undisclosable

I personally dont think it will happen anyway, they went to so much to get him back.
HNIC
Depends on who Barca have coming through in their youth team.
Plus Barca already have Messi, Neymar, Pedro, Biscuits, Xavi, Iniesta, Sanchez, Song, Mascherano, Affellay and Tello to fit in their front 6. (Plus they may buy someone if they sell Fabregas)

They have Biscuits, Xavi and Iniesta who wont be displaced.
They have Mascherano and Song too.
I dunno, its a good deal for Barca, I know they arent doing great financially.
Think Rafinha or Sergi Roberto will take thiagos place amd if cesc leaves then a new signing. Mata?
