Yes, he will.

Vitali has less than a year left in the game.

And if Haye keeps winning, Wlad be forced to fight him.

Should have taken this route first time round.

His 'retirement' was a poor move.

I think the thinking behind it was he'd walk back into a mega title fight and storm the division, but the K's are sh#%scared.

Are there not ways Wlad could avoid a rematch D4?

I also take it you agree with me that Haye would KO anyone he fought now?

posted on 19/7/13

It not a guarantee he will.

Has relied on his power too much, Haye is a good boxer, needs to use his skills, because there will be occasions where he doesn't land the KO blow.

When he first moved up to heavyweight he should have went to America and beat some big names raise his profile, then he could have bossed the negotiations.

Why would wlad run from a fighter he utterly outclassed? That's nonsense.

Haye beats everyone in the division apart from Wlad and Vitali.

When they go, he will sweep up, unify and retire. Guaranteed.

Utterly outclassed?

You must have watched a different fight.

Wlad landed on average 2 power punches a round.

I had it 4 rounds to 8 to Wlad.

Former world champions such as Valuev and Foreman had it closer.

Haye was outboxed but not outclassed.

Went in with a poor gameplan, and was off balance all night when throwing his punches (injury?).

He took Wlads best shots.

Wlad held on every time Haye connected.

haye had a broken toe last time

didnt he say he thinks he only has 2 fights left until he retires?

No chance. Take off the biased goggled gents. I watched that fight and was wanting a Haye KO as he had been saying for years.

Got his chance and just looked utter garbage. Wladamir may have missed a lot, but that was mainly due to Hayes speed and guile in getting out the way for 12 rounds.

Wladamir never once looked troubled at all and he easily outclassed him.

Haye couldn't do anything at all. When he moved forward he was jabbed, when he looked for angles he was closed down effectively.

he was just awful.....or was wladamir simply too good.

You know grappling strictly is not allowed in boxing.

Only watched the fight a couple of times, but Haye was well in the fight during up to the mid rounds.

They were a lot of close rounds, Wlad jab dominated I think from 8 to 11 and Haye started to get desperate.

To say a rematch would be a foregone conclusion would be wrong IMO.

Fair enough D4.

a rematch is never a foregone conclusion in this sport as we have seen down the years.

if Hayes toes was indeed preventing him getting shots off, then he may be able to erase our memories of "Toegate" by knocking Wlad out.

i cant see it myself, i just think the brothers are THAT good.

but one punch can change a fight as we have seen with big fights down the years:

Corrales cs Castillo
Martinez vs Williams
Pacquiao vs Hatton
Marquez vs Pacquiao
Rahman vs Lewis

to name but a few...

Vitali Klitschko doesn't share your confidence which is why he is ducking the fight

Corrales cs Castillo
Martinez vs Williams -
Pacquiao vs Hatton - One punch never changed the fight Hatton was on his way to getting KOd
Marquez vs Pacquiao
Rahman vs Lewis - 1st or 2nd fight? the second fight Lewis was setting Rahman up for the knockout after outboxing him with ease

How many fights does Haye need to become mandatory, and how highly do the opponents need to be ranked? i have no idea with ranking/mandatory system.

It felt to me that Vlad was in second gear that fight.

Tamed Haye with his jab and didn't do anything reckless. A rematch would go the same way imo.

Don't think Haye has the tools to get around Wlad and really land the bombs, sure he landed one in the 12th and Wlad held but that's part of the sport.

Haye simply couldn't get around Wlad's jab, The K's get allot of grief but they are technically very good fighters, they work very well behind the jab and utilise their strengths. Unfortunatley it makes for pretty poor fights.

I think allot of Brittish boxing fans overrate Haye, he was a great cruiserweight but he's never been exceptional at heavy weight, he's fought a few ok heavyweights but in his first real test he didn't do anything near what he said he woudl do.

I don't buy the toe excuse, if he was really that injured he shouldn't have gone ahead with the fight, people will say he had to etc, that if he didnlt he would not have got another chance but if he could show medical proof that his toe was broken people would have accecpted that.

Haye v Vitali would be a good fight and one we'd all like to see, don;t buy into the idea that it's all down to Vitali ducking Haye, both camps have called out one another at various points, it's a bit of both. Hopefully Haye gets to the mandatory to fight one of them although I am hoping fury Ko's Haye buut can't see it happening.

Standout from that fight was the last round, where Haye clearly caught Wlad and rocked him. Wlad was desperate in that last round after that imo, but it held it together.

I don't think the damage to his toe was that much of a problem in the fight. It was more to do with that he couldn't spar from 20 days out, normally you would end your sparring in the week of the fight.

You need sparring to get your timing right, and Haye's game plan was all about timing that big overhand right.

Haye probably regrets showing his big toe after the fight, but I can understand his mindset why he did it.

If there is a rematch Haye cannot rely on one punch he needs a more complex game plan.

Haye actually did well when he used his jab in the fight.

Vitali is 42 today, well past his best, he needs to retire now.

All the belts rank fighters differently none of them used any kind of methodology that I'm aware of.

Beating Fury and another high ranked fighter should put Haye in the frame as a number one contender for at least one belt.

Haye would KO Vitali now and if that fight was signed that is what I would put a lot of money on.

Haye has the 'potential' to knock out anyone including Wlad, let's say he lands the shot he got on Wlad in the 12th earlier next time, he could surely take him out.
