This one seemed like it was always going to happen because Nani's agent is the same agent who has brought in pretty much every big player to Monaco this summer.

Nani has won it all with United and is 26 so not a bad move for him for one more big payday and get into the Portugal first team.

Does anyone at disagree with the notion that if Nani left we could really do with a new winger / inside forward?

If Nani and Rooney left, I (as manager) would be tempted to replace them with a single player of the highest quality who could play both in a wide attacking role and as a 10. That would give us a lot of options and competition. Hopefully the combined fees for Nani and Rooney would fund the purchase of the said superstar: Reus, Muniain...

...leaving us the whole of our summer budget invest in our midfield.

Depends on how we want to play football next season.

Reus would be perfect but I doubt Dortmund would sell.

Nani is a notoriously unreliable player who has spent a whole season not signing a new contract so the world knows he's wanting to leave.

Hence his cheapness. Plus his fee would be higher if more than one club was in for him (as was the case with Young).

Galatasaray didn't even wanna pay £10 million for him!

14m for Nani is good. We paid about 18M and got some decent service so not a bad deal.

We put in another 10M we can get a decent winger for 25M.
