He was playing with Fiorentina last season and kept twelve clean sheets, he is actually a decent goalkeeper and should definitely challenge Szczesney. It would be a good signing for Arsenal, although I'm not entirely sure what they're paying for him.

Szczesney needs challenged, but other positions should have been prioritised.

If you can complete a few deals, then I will hold my hands up and admit I was wrong. However, it depends on the quality, RGS, if it's World Class players like Ozil then fair enough but if it is overrated dross like Fellaini then he has hardly improved upon your midfield.
