Muriel would be a great signing for Liverpool, if they could get him and Eriksen they would be stronger than with suarez IMO

Unfortunately I think the only way we can push for top 4 quality marquee signings is to sell suarez. I just cant see us to have the spending power otherwise. I would go for:

Eriksen £15 mil
Papadopolous £16 mil
Muriel £18-20 mil
Capoue £8-9 mil

If we were to keep Suarez, we could only sign maybe 2 of these at a push

I don't get this 'noone will come in and have as much of an impact as Suarez'. People were saying that before Suarez arrived.

There are other people out there than Suarez - and yes even though we're not in the CL - there's always the chance of stumbling on an unknown player who turns out to be fantastic.

i thought we should have gone after cassano personally. He went to parma! we could have done with him for a few years. Then we would have a front four of sturridge, suarez, cassano and coutinho which would have been tasty to say the least.

Could go after valbuena from marseille. Personally, i'd go for Menez from PSG. He can provide some consistency on the right hand side allowing suarez and coutinho to have some freedom to play behind sturridge. Would be fairly cheap and available, especially given PSG have just signed Cavani.

We definitely need to make a marquee signing or at least a player with some pedigree like menez or valbuena who will clearly improve the first team. Rodgers has said as much but so far hasn't shown huge interest in anyone of this level apart from mkhitryan.

Is that a euphemism you what you've just been up to? Or are you suggesting that there are no good players out there to sign?

If it's the former then that's way too much information.

Realistically I think Yilmaz fits the bill. I would also like Erikksen. Also Schniederlin.

I think all three, if Suarez left, would improve the first team and squad very well.

Eriksen would be a handy addition. But I still feel a signing at the backend of the pitch is important either a CB or DMF as cover for lucas.

What about Demba Ba as a "short term" replacement for Suarez? By that I mean the lad knows where the back of the net is, he wouldn't cost the earth allowing us to bide our time and get a "marquee" signing at a more opportune moment. He probably isn't going to get a game for Chelsea.

Chelsea will be intending on keeping Ba, I'd imagine.
