So it sounds like Preston fans expect to beat us for us to come good and take the league title. They seem more optimistic for us than some of our own fans!
I think we'll probably draw with them at the weekend
*BUT for us to come good.
think most of them seem to have a decent understanding as to where we are at right now.
Transition.
Sorry to burst too many bubbles but Preston 1 Wolves 3. A draw will be a good result.
That was supposed to be Preston 3 Wolves 1
To be honest i will be more keen to see what we play like, formation, partnerships etc than obtaining a big win.
Pre season has been very promising and it looks like we have our pride back, it would be a bad time to start heaping on the pressure if we come away with nothing on day one.
Agree Cinci, no Doom mongers before September please.
Preston were 14th last season, but only conceded 49 in 46 - a good team defensively.
We're not going to get an easy 3-0
Frankly I have little idea how good Preston are and that applies to most teams in this division. What I do know is that we simply must be in the promotion picture this season.
Preston may well give us a hard game. What I am certain of is that we will give them a hard game.
"Frankly I have little idea how good Preston are and that applies to most teams in this division."
I think that's true for most of us. It is going to be interesting seeing what some of the lesser known clubs offer and if our young side will be able to grind out results in places like shrewsbury on a wold, wet night
Yes Newcy we will doubtless have to learn to dig in at some of the away games. But from what I have seen in the last two friendlies we might be in for a season not unlike McCarthy's promotion season when we conceded quite a few but scored a lot more. That will do for me particularly after some of the terrible games we had to watch last season.
I'm not expecting a flying start to be honest. A new team blending together will take a little time, but we don't seem to have the hardest of starts, so I'll take a draw now at Preston.
You're absolutely right Wolfgang. Stop the infighting and concentrate our efforts on a positive season and hopefully in with a shot of promotion at the first attempt. I feel we'll have a better second half of the season tho', once the players get used to each other.
The PNE fans on Wolfgang's post above certainly know more about Wolves than most Wolves' fans know about PNE.
They seem to know more about Wolves than a lot of Wolves' fans know about Wolves LOL.
Beat you too it, HM

Preston 1 - 2 Wolves
Wolfgang's got more threads than Tommy Hilfiger.
