Wenger Board Tension

But what makes sense about this all is that Suarez is not a Wenger signing. I just can't see Wenger actively pursuing someone like him. Wenger facking hates people with his sort of attitude. Didn't we just see Wenger today have a huge interview about how he loves and really values the character of his players?

AHB I set myself up for that one

English, quit being a melt. She has beef with Arsene, so I'm not going to take what she says about him seriously because I've got a brain.

Long Dong, dunno really. My tune would naturally change though, cos I'm expecting big things this window. Don't really know, it's not a possibility in my eyes atm.

I would be extremely unhappy with Arsene and everyone else...

Wenger should be stripped of financial control?

This transfer window is sending people crazy especially the idiots. Atleast wait to find out who he signs and the fees related to them before slágging him off when the transfer window still has a month to go.

yeah ahb, google it

If this is true, by September 1st we will not have strengthened in any area. So we all have to sit and endure Wenger's waiting game.

I fear Wenger's retirement/exit will be anything but celebratory as SAF's was, which AW deserves, but will end in tears.

Lawrence is a gooner. She is an ITK.

TBH even though it's late it's still a bit premature to start getting angry and making outlandish statements, a signing could come randomly out of no-where tomorrow like the Monreal or Eduardo deals.

It's not late in the window at all, big deals tend to happen mid-august

Meaning what exactly? That all journalists, even Arsenal-supporting ones, are involved in a conspiratorial plan to ruin Wenger?

She's just so facking negative all the time. On the guardian podcast just after we'd finished fourth, when they say to her 'Arsenal won hurray!' she just sighs and makes a fuss about it.

She did then list some positives, but she's still so facking negative. She was saying this then, but no one cared then either.

What kind of journalist no matter who he/she supports would write and article saying 'Wenger and the board are getting along just fine'. They are renowned for blowing things out of proportion for sake of making headlines and gaining attention, it is their job.

Fack this hour wasted already in no time. That's why I left this place. Hope all's well with everyone, see you when the season begins hopefully with a fresh batch of new additions and me munching on humble pie.

Wenger's Wife

Well, John Cross seems to be saying a lot of positive things about the management at the moment, though you could argue that with him accompanying the tour he pretty much had to...

I have a dream.

It involves us saying "Fúck off" to Suarez and announce a £40,000,001 bid for Marco Reus instead, which is somehow accepted.

That would be just perfect

So there is tension between Gazidis and the board and Wenger. Yet Gazidis has been very open about offering Wenger an extension to his contract. Right...

Wouldn't believe her tbh, load of nonsense. If it were the case I don't think Wenger would be so close to signing a new deal.

posted on 29/7/13

It must be a good sign that we are keeping our targets very confidential if no news has come out about our targets other than Suarez in aggggeeeeeeeees. I can't wait to find out who the new midfielder will be, the fact it's been so quiet suggests that a surprise announcement could be on the cards

Sergio raises a brilliant point that seems to have been forgotten

However it's a very bad situation to let a manager run down a contract anyway. If I was Wenger, and for some reason I wanted to retire in 2014, I'd sign a new deal to make everyone think the club was stable and then retire anyway with no payoff, tell Gazidis beforehand.

If you let him run it down it could harm the end of season. We saw it with Ferguson in 2002, speculation fúcks you over if it's common knowledge you're gonna leave.

I'm only happy for Suarez to be a smokescreen if we sign someone of similar calibre.

El Shaarawy or Reus, as unlikely as they would be, would be absolutely insane signings.
