Aston Villa vs WOLFSBURG

………………………………....Reina…………………………..
……………………..Dedé……Terry ©……Barzagli………….
…….Maggio………………………………………………De Sciglio…
…………………………..Motta……Nocerino…………………………
………………………………...Kaka…………………………………..
………………………..Ibrahimovic…..Balotelli………………………..
Subs: Grun, Antonini, O’Shea, Ambrosini,Christante, Cole, Arshavin.

General tactics (200 words start here)
Reina to be vocal and command his area whilst marshalling the defence. 3 centre backs to stay back at all times only Terry to go up for set-pieces. RVP is Villa’s main threat and Terry will man mark him using his physical advantage to cut out any high balls upto him. Barzagli and Dedé to sweep up any through balls and cover the runners. Maggio and De Scig will provide the width for the side and will look to push on as often as possible.
Motta will offer a shield to the defence but will be expected to venture forwards and provide an outlet. Nocerino will be expected to provide the team with a lung busting box-box display. Kaka will play the traditional number 10 role and will be the heart beat of the team looking to play incisive throughballs to Ibra & Balo. My strike-force offer pace, power, physical strength and clinical finishing. They will look to hold the ball up for runners as well as constantly moving keeping their markers off balance.
My team are set up with a quick paced direct style of football, creative freedom is encouraged as is shooting from distance before Villa’s keeper sets himself. (199 words)

Tactics:

BILBAO v Udinese

Line up:
---------------------------------De Gea---------------------------------
Azpilicueta------------Ruiz------------Puyol------------------Alba
---------------------------------Valero---------------------------------
--------------------------Xavi------------Thiago----------------------
Koke-------------------------------------------------------Deulofeu
----------------------------------Villa----------------------------------

Subs: Kepa, Ramalho, Aurtenetxe, Samper, Toral, Vicente, Rochina

Captain: Puyol
Penalties: Villa
Free Kicks: Koke
Corners: Xavi

Gameplan (200 words):

We're coming up against a very strong outfit in this game with a more than capable defence and a strong midfield.
stands us in good stead.

We will be looking to play with the typical Spanish possession style football of short, sharp pass and move play and we
will be trying our best to keep hold of the ball and force Udinese in to doing all the running.

We will play out from the back and spread the ball around, creating space. We won't have any defined wingers in the game,
both wide men will be attacking space whenever they see it but our full backs will push up to support whenever possible.
When crossing, players will drill the ball along the floor to create as much chaos and confusion in the oppostion defence as
possible.

David Villa will be tasked with creating space for midfielders to punch through, as well as finishing chances.

In defence, we will play the 6 second-rule: 6 seconds of high pressure to attempt to win the ball back, if we don't, then sit
deeper.
Also, our full backs will be doubly tasked with making sure our centre backs aren't beaten for pace.

Athletic Bilbao v UDINESE CALCIO

_________________Klose__________________
SUBS: Dida, Inigo Martinez, Zanetti, Kehl, Casemiro, Giggs, Miccoli

Captain - Namenja Vidic
Free Kick - Andrea Pirlo
Corners - Andrea Pirlo
Penalties - Andrea Pirlo

(200 words start here)

This system is designed to target Alba and to start explosive counter-attacks. Marchisio tucks into midfield to make a 3 man midfield. Wing-backs Lahm and Alaba will cover the flanks flying up and down. Giaccherini attacks the space behind Alba with Lahm in support. Giaccherini will make himself available and stay forward waiting for a ball over the top/into him to work Alba. A switch of the ball to the left to bring Alaba into the game when attacking/countering with Marchisio tucked in. Essien and Marchisio will press their midfield. Pirlo sprays ball into space/feet. Of the back 3, 2 will keep the line and Chiellini, best game reader, will step out to intercept or close down runners. Vidic Campagnaro to track late runs or dribbling threats. Chiellini to support Alaba defending. The shifting of defence is important, Alaba will drop into left back to form a back 4 (Vidic on right) or 5 (Lahm on right), allowing our midfield a platform to hound the centre area and win back possession. When counter attacking Klose will hold ball up for runners (Giaccherini, Lahm, Marchisio, Alaba) then get in the box to finish.

Ajax Tactics vs Shahktar Donetsk

----------------------------------Buffon----------------------------------

Danilo-------------Varane------------Bonucci-------Melgerejo

----------------------Bender------------Carrick---------------------

-------------Isco-------------Gundogan------------Fischer-------

--------------------------------Drogba---------------------------------

Subs: Pinto, Van Buyten, Wallace, Van Ginkel, Quintero, Aimar, Petric

The plan is to keep possession as much as possible in the midfield, Carrick, Bender and Gundogan will keep the ball moving as much as possible to tire the opposition. Defensively we will look to press high up the pitch and be aggressive, enabling us to win the ball back quickly and in dangerous areas, this must be a team effort, we must attack as a team and defend as a team.

The fullbacks will be bombing up and down the flanks all day providing widthand getting crosses into Drogba to use his aerial power as Isco and Fischer will look to come inside a lot leaving space on the outside. Varane and Bonucci will look to work in tandem when defending, Varane will be on the cover while Bonucci attacks the ball as Varane is the quicker of the 2.

Isco, Fischer and Gundogan will look to use their energy, pace and ability to carve out chances for themselves or Drogba who will look to run in behind when these 3 have the ball, defensively they must push high on the back line of Shakhtar denying them space and an outball.

Game plan:
we expect them to come as us at time but my team will be organised and will pressure them all over the pitch causing them to make a mistake, then we can hit them on the break with the pace in our team. The balance of the team looks good with the midfield 3, all of my team will be putting a shift in and give 100%. The team will look to play simple passes and will always start from the back, if the midfield run out of options they shouldn’t be afraid to start again from the back. The team will look to keep the ball on the floor as much as possible as we are not the tallest team and this may give the other team the advantage. We will look to play wider with the wide players keeping the options open for the team. When my team are crossing the ball drilled crosses will be preferred.

SUBS: Dida, Campagnaro, Zanetti, Kehl, Giaccherini, Giggs, Klose

Lahm and Alaba are wing-backs.

Captain - Steven Gerrard
Free Kick - Andrea Pirlo (within 30 yards or crossing) / Mario Balotelli (longer than 30 yards shot)
Corners - Andrea Pirlo
Penalties - Mario Balotelli

(200 words start here)

Our team will press hard against the opposition. Snapping at their heels all game. When we get the ball we will move the ball forwards quickly and efficiently (not hoofing). Di Natale will run off the shoulder of the last defender and push their defensive line back. Balotelli will be the target man, hold up play for Lahm Marchisio and Alaba. Gerrard and Pirlo both sit deep most of the game passing and controlling the tempo of the game. They can take turns occasionally to run forwards to support. Marchisio will just do his trademark runs from deep. Lahm and Alaba bomb up and down the pitch to provide width and will move heaven and earth to make sure they’re back defending when needed. Gerrard and Pirlo can look to feed wide areas when the wing-backs are in space. Of the back 3, 2 will keep the line and Chiellini, our best game reader, will step out to intercept or close down runners. Vidic Campagnaro to track late runs or dribbling threats. Chiellini to support Alaba and Vidic to support Lahm in defending. Wing-backs to cross whenever possible. Keep possession and still looking to score if winning.

(200 words start here)

First home game of the season and we will play this game with attacking intent looking to build on last weeks win, we line up 3-5-2 to counter the probable 4-2-3-1 of Shaktar. Dedé will man mark their striker using his height pace and power to be like a second skin to Adriano, Nesta and Barzagli will cover through balls and knock-on’s as well as dealing with the runners from midfield. Maggio and Clichy will be given free licence to get forward as often as possible creating width and offering pace in attacking positions while keeping the Shaktar full backs pegged back. Mascherano and Bender will play in the centre of the park dominating the midfield battle and giving us a platform to build our attacks. Sneijder will play in the number 10 role spreading the ball around nicely probing their defence. Ibra will play as the focal point of the attack using his power and height to force gaps in the Shaktar defence for El Shaarawy to exploit with his pace and clinical finishing. Ibra and Sneijder are encouraged to take pot shots from distance with El Shaarawy on hand for any loose balls or rebounds. (197 words)

Udinese vs Ajax Amsterdam

---------------------------------Buffon----------------------------------
Danilo--------Varane----------------Koscielny---------Coentrao
----------------------Pogba---------Carrick-----------------------------
----------Quintero-------Gundogan--------Gotze--------------------
-------------------------------Drogba-------------------------------------

Captain: Buffon

Freekicks: Quintero from the right as he’s Left footed and Drogba from the left as he’s right footed.

Penalties: Gundogan

Game Plan( 200 Words) We will sit slightly deeper this week and look to play on the counter attack using the pace and energy of our attack to take advantage of the lack of movement and pace in Udinese’s midfield and CB’s. The deeper line will also help our defence as we feel more comfortable defending crosses into the box up against Di Natale and Balotelli rather than have them running in behind. When we counter attack the full backs will look to get on the outside and get crosses into Drogba as our attacking midfielders will be playing narrow, Gotze, Gundogan and Quintero will look to dart in and around the lines between the Dm’s and the Cb’s of Udinese and cause havoc and look to break the defensive line and play off Drogba who will use his intelligence and power to bully the CB’s and bring the attacking midfielders into the game. Pogba and Carrick will use their intellingence and positioning to break up the play and distribute the ball quickly and accurately to our AM’s, their job is to sit back and soak up pressure however if Pogba gets the chance to break forward he should and he has license to shoot from distance.

BILBAO v Aston Villa

-----------------------------Villa----------------------------

Substitutes:- Kepa, Marchena, Aurtenetxe, Samper, Sarabia, Vicente, Rochina

Captain: Puyol
Penalties: Villa
Free Kicks: Koke
Corners: Xavi

200 word gameplan:-

Typical Spanish possession game, designed to keep the ball away from the opposition and make them chase shadows. Our centre back partnership will remain relatively deep all game so that they don’t get beaten for pace and so that we can spread the ball around the pitch and stretch out the opposition’s formation.

Albiol will be tasked with man marking RVP, with Puyol dropping behind to sweep up any balls that evade him. Our full backs will control the flanks, pressing forward to support the attack and falling back to prevent the wingers from cutting inside and getting in to our box.

Xavi will be pulling the strings in the centre and Martinez will be the ball-winner in the side. Both will look to move the ball up to the attacking midfielders who will play short, intricate passes in front of the back 4, taking it in turns to act as a support striker for Villa, whose sole purpose in the team will be to play off the shoulder of the last man and score goals.

We will be looking to keep possession early in the game, tiring the opposition out, then strike at their tired defence late on.

WOLFSBURG vs Bilbao game week 3

Starting line up and subs:

……………………….Reina……………………….
…………….Ivanovic….Alex…..Dedé…………..

…………………Bender…..Yaya………………….
………………………..Sneijder…………………….
……………………….Ibrahimovic…………………
Subs: Camp,Zambrotta,Nesta,Ambrosini,N’Daw,Cole,Yilmaz

Tactics (200 words start here)

Based on my scouting technique Bilbao play a 4-2-3-1 Variant and we will be set up to pressure their midfield and hit them with punishing counter attacks. Alex will use his size and strength to man mark Villa leaving Ivanovic and Dede as spare men to watch the runs from midfield whilst sweeping up any through balls or knock ons. Maggio and Clichy will be free to attack at will as Bilbao’s width is generated by Azpi and Alba. Maggio will look to demonstrate Alba’s poor defensive positioning as shown in a recent Italy Spain game. Masch is the midfield Anchor and will look to drive the team onto midifield dominance alongside Bender and Yaya the perfect blend of skill, pace and power will swing the battle in our favour. Sneijder has licence to roam and be the “No 10” dropping deep when needed to over-run the midfield of Bilbao as well as playing off Ibra. Ibra will use his sheer strength to cause Puyol and Albiol nightmares and look to get in the face of De Gea for any crosses whipped in, causing a nuisance of himself while holding the ball up for others to run onto.
