Even as a Gunner who thinks Spurs currently have a better side than us, I would rather they kept Bale for the simple reason Spurs could build something insane from selling him for the grotesquely overpriced sum they'll sell him for. Hell, his sale could fund a quarter of their planned stadium in one summer's business.

Stretford, teams aren't necessarily a sum of their individual parts. It's also about balance in a way that gets the best out of individuals and the collective. Except Bale is a replacement for Ronaldo, I'm convinced he would not improve Madrid's team.

I'm really irritated about why Madrid couldn't keep their grubby paws off Isco, a player that would improve any team other than Barca, Madrid and Bayern. I am starting to doubt FFP but Real get bucket loads of money from their TV deal alone, let alone the rest of their income... which is huge.

Real are consistently in profit, remember. They could quite easily afford 85 million for Bale, particularly if they get him on a long term contract. It is not as simple as player costs 85 million, that shows as an 85 million loss this year - it doesn't, it is spread over the duration of the contract.
