There's no doubt we still need one more stella attacking player and another quality centre back. we've now freed up some wages after reina's removal. we've broken even pretty much this window so i think we have every reason to expect those two signings and hopefully a left back on loan.

i think we should pay the price for papadopolous. he's already a top player and people forget he's only 21.

What is the net spend so far, about £1M so far? If we don't get anything classed as first team type of players then I'm afraid that FSG are pulling our collective puds. Top 6 next year? Forget it.

Its betwee n1 and 3mil.

i think rodgers has said cbs are ok... i think he means nobody in until skertl goes.... but then again he said the two keepers would compete too.

I am convinced we are selling to buy... thats my theory so it'll be interesting to see who comes in next if any.

well is clear we are trying to balance the books. hence reina out, mignolet in. the other high earners like johnson, downing and even henderson relative to their contribution to the team are vulnerable as well. its good business really as in theory the wages you save on squad players for example having aspas (£25,000p/w) on the bench instead of downing (70,000p/w) means you can afford the wages of another one or two top drawer players.

I heard comments like yours last season before the summer transfer window shut.

Sad thing is while we balance the books Man City are spending megabucks it just doesn't seem fair. So much for the FPP rules.

Aggers you have a good memory or maybe your making things up as usual because I never said any thing of the sort

I'm not at all concerned, I think Papa is dependant on offloading Skrtel and then we just need that goalscoring midfielder. Despite the shambles last summer we still had a net spend of £25-30m so I expect there to be a similar amount available. IF we don't sign anyone else my opinion on FSG will drastically change, but I'm sure that won't happen.

I reckon 2 top players will come in, whom i don't know though. Eriksen i doubt as it wouldmof been done by now, papa who knows looks like paper talk again.

The mkhi one points to a top midfielder, so any top mfs about in the £25M range....thats our man.

Ok. How many TOP players do you think will opt for us at the moment? I could count them with closed fists. We had a plan A, the player wouldn't even speak to us, so I dread to think what plan B is. A month ago we were adding all the transfer kitty together and getting excited, what's happened? Sweet FA.

There is plenty of time for money to be spent in this window. However, if fsg refuse to invest the money from the savings generated from cutting the wage bill, plus the increased TV revenue, plus the increase generated from the improved sponsorship deals then tough questions will need to be asked.

Exactly paisley, but I guarantee you, when it doesn't happen and Rodgers backs them, he will be falling on his sword before them

One of the comments that came from Cavani was that Suarez wants to leave, not because of the media, not the ban, not the abuse but for the simple fact that Liverpool don't have the resources to compete at the top level.

Torres left for the same reason, the league table bears out a very sad story of a decline in a great club. It's hard to hear from those two players but it seems we are not taken seriously by a good few players we wanted to join either.

Tough times ahead I'm afraid.
