Probably because they get more air time on music channels (tv and radio) than real musicians get, without having any musical talent what so ever.

Exactly, they do have a bit of talent as karaoke singers but that's about all. However, I also hate them because I wish I was 18 and had a large percentage of 16-30 year old women throwing themselves at me. Not to mention the money. Damn I hate this world.

TBF 1 Direction's main aim isn't really to make good music, it's to make young girls wet.

People are so gullible as well. They pick someone to win their show and make sure they get a christmas number 1 with the support of numpties.
I only listen to old songs these days
