Bale is going, dont get your hopes up he will be staying.

This whole situation reeks of tapping up and broken promises, seen it time and time again with Spurs.

Once again we get close to having a team capable of challenging only to be treated with contempt by a government funded football club and for the jewel in the crown to be torn away by greedy agents.

I think this proves that Levy's words mean nothing.
1st Berbatov is not leaving, then Modric, now Bale.
At least he's softening the blow by building the team around Sandro

no no, you are right. levy should just say they are leaving, that way we wont be able to get as much money for them as when he plays hard ball.

good idea

if bale goes, then as soon as he goes then just forget about him. the simple fact is that the cash will be so huge that if we reinvest wisely we will be a far better, more balanced outfit next season than we were last season with bale in it.

by the end of the season we were set up to give the ball to bale at every opportunity, so if he had a bad game we would have been in trouble.

fack bale off if he wants to go, go out and buy four quality players, one wing forward, one creative mid, one centre back and one quality left back, and then shove the rest of the money into the new stadium.

that would be the best thing for the club.

Could be going back for photoshoot with Soldado holding shirt for website or something?

Thanks for the immediate sarcasm and vitriol there Chronic, but he could've just as easily said nothing as he has over the last four weeks.
He still could've played hardball just as well, rather than talking to a side about selling our best player while they still owe us money...

Better idea

I actually think Bale has been vastly overrated on here. He is a good player, a very good player in fact, but not the world-beater he has been made out to be.

I wonder how long after he leaves this will become the common opinion on here?

Good idea about investing in the stadium, but I have a feeling that after publically receiving so much cash, it'll be tough negotiating fees, as everybody would have their plates out for a piece of Bale pie.

Has Levy actually ever said he isn't for sale?

AVB has said it, possibly with Levy's day so, but I don't believe Levy has uttered anything publicly

you are right, perhaps he shouldnt have treated the public like adults, when we are apparantly sheep who believe everything we hear and read.

dont you have a brain to think for yourself?

anyway, not sure why you are bringing berbatov and modric into it - very different situations.. berbatov went on strike, and so did modric.

he actually denied modric his move if you remember that?

as for bale..... are you actually small minded (foolish) enough to be criticising levy for considering selling when the supposed bid is £105 million?

i doubt he expected the money to get that high... i can guarantee that no one else did (including you)

To be honest we win either way, we keep Bale or we get 80-100m to spend on good (hopefully) players

well he is certainly nowhere near c. ronaldo's standard when he left. he had had 4 back to back class seasons. bale has had half a season, with moments of brilliance elsewhere in his spurs career.

bale wont flop at real madrid.. but if real madrid fans are expecting the next c. ronaldo then i think they may be disappointed.
