LFC and Arsenal are not rivals. You have to have won ol big ears to be considered a rival of LFC like Milan and Madrid.

I consider Liverpool our rivals, not particularly threatening ones over the last couple of years, but rivals none the less.

I think it's been explained about 100 times but here we go again.

Out of the teams that finished in the top 4 last season; Arsenal are the only team we would probably be able to catch as Chelsea, City and United are going to be streaks ahead of us.

Our target for where we want to be is the top 4. Therefore Arsenal are the team we need to surpass - therefore strengthening them by selling them our best player would be suicide. Get it,

When you sold Van Persie to Utd a lot if your supporters weren't happy selling to a 'rival'. This is much the same case.
