if we sell Rooney to any PL Club, for any stupid money, Moyes has cocked up. Sell him abroad, thats ok, but to Chelsea...ffs!
A bit of a stop gap, but for the right price, i'd love to see Kaka at the club. If he can stay clear of injuries, he can still work his magic and gives us a new angle
Why do people keep doing transfer market maths. When last has what we sold affected what we bought. Don't care if we sold rooney for 100 million, we are not going to cross the 50 million barrier.

Why do people keep doing transfer market maths
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Because unlike Chelsea, City, PSG, Monaco etc........Manchester United operate to make profits.
Improving the team is important for us too but not at the extent of running up Big losses.
We have never really gone above 50m NET expenditure so that's why I kept it at that price for argument sake.
We went slightly above 50m in the 12/13 season. Now we have improved sponsorship deals, increased TV money and better interest rates on the loans. I think that we are quite capable of going above 50m if the right players are available.
Reus, Draxler or Di Maria.

Can only confirm what @johncrossmirror writes about the Marouane #Fellaini bid. It'll also appear in #HLN, my paper. Deal is close. #MUFC
Please let this be true
Lamela looks amazing. 15 goals from inside forward last season for Roma and still only 21.
Seems like an ideal player for us and ideal replacement for Rooney.
Reus and Draxler are not happening this summer. Di Maria will go to the club with highest offer.
If we trigger the release clause then all he has to do is accept personal terms and pass medical. Should be a piece of cake.
Have we bid though?

10 years of transfer market observations. At no time has selling a player for 10 million some how made us pay 60 million in transfers. It only happens in championship manager. Most teams mark out transfer budget and anything that comes in is used as discretionary funds.
If you sell Rooney to Chelsea you are practically handing them the league.
It will be a straight shoot out between city & chelsea
I was talking more about us not breaking the 50m barrier than the theory behind it. Sorry, I should have explained myself better.
John Cross has said we've turned our attention to him, that journo tweet I pasted is a guy who writes about the Belgians in our league

Which is why I just cant see it happening. Even if the club and Moyes are crazy enough to let it happen, SAF wont.
If we can land Fellaini, Baines and a top replacement for Rooney then we might eventually give in and sell him.
Lots of ifs there though.
Nah Baines isn't happening, but hopefully Marouane is. Regardless what people think, I rate him
Fellani and baines won't make up for Rooney.
Rooney still holds that fear factor within the league amongs opposition

I seriously doubt that we will sell him to Chelsea. I might be wrong, but I just cannot see it. SAF will still hold plenty of sway at the club and I think he'll do everything in his power to prevent Jose getting his hands on Rooney.
Reus, Mata or Draxler are the type of players I would ideally like us to replace Rooney if he ever did leave with but none are realistic at least not this summer anyway.
Lamela may be more of a realistic option and we've been linked with him quite a few times, even before he joined Roma I think although his contract still has another 3 years to run so he'd be pretty pricey although certainly worth the fee.
All players who can create, produce good goal returns and who would fit perfectly into a fluid attacking system which requires plenty of interchange up front.
Draxler's release fee is 39m Euros. But apparently he said he's going to stay put one more year even if a team meets it.
Reus won't be leaving. Neither will mata.
Considering Draxler agreed a contract extension this summer, he'll definitely be staying for another season at least. His buy-out clause which Bild reported back in May is €45 million.
Schalke are building quite the team and they possess three players including Draxler who have the potential to become superstars in Leon Goretzka and Max Meyer who are 18 and 18 respectively.
