Not relaxed, just aware of how other teams have had to.
No one wants to spend two seasons here, my point has always been they it might just happen and IF we do things right i.e. develop a young and hungry side and a particular brand rather than anything will do, it might turn out OK.
J have said elsewhere we will gain around 80 pts, give or take a few......I'm not getting itchy feet and slamming the youth after one game like many did last night, that is what got my back up, comments like '' clearly this lot are not good enough'' etc etc.
Where is that quote Cinci - who said "clearly this lot are not good enough"?
Cinci, I didn't see too many "slamming the youth". Most were legitimately pointing out that there needs to be a blend of youth and experience. This is something that a lot of posters have been saying for months. It also seems to be a point of view that KJ is coming around to.
Last night's team was inexperienced and it showed.
What really p1zzes me off is your constant mantra that "the cup matches don't matter". You said the same last season.
I totally disagree and see them as important for a number of reasons:
Winning becomes a habit so try to win every game.
We are building a team so the more that the "kids" play together in competitive games, the better.
It helps to build-up fitness at this early stage of the season.
Whilst we are unlikely to win the cups; the cup-runs are an important source of finance for the club
etc....
Our overriding aim this season has to be promotion, but let's not dismiss the cups as an irrelevance.
People keep banging on about last nights team, but it was clear KJ didn't take it seriously and decided not to remotely risk anyone he didn't have to, he even left out price who would surely have started.......clearly because he wants him ready for saturday.
Just read the match thread ulf, from pages 6 -9 some real dumb comments.
So what are you saying cinci. That we should have faith in the kids at the club and get behind them. Or Jackett sent out a team of kids last night cause he didn't take it seriously.
Frankly it is utter garbage to say he didn't take his 2nd competitive game in charge seriously and was happy to send out a team of kids to lose a game to a lower league team to damage their morale and confidence. Complete trash cinci
Of course he wants to win DJ, thats not in doubt, but do you think that was the strongest team he could have picked, i sure as hell don't.
Why would Price play all pre season and then be ignored for Foley last night, why was foley not at left back instead of reckord.
The point is that last nights line up doesn't remotely match saturdays line up, or are you telling me it does?
I would assume he wanted to get fringe players some game time, just as our dear old mick has done in the carling cup for years.
He picked a team he believed could win the game and I think he will have been disappointed they lost. Most importantly he will have learned that a team without a few of our more experienced players is not going to be good enough. Of course the team did not resemble Saturday's because Stearman, Elokobi, Edwards, Sako, Sigurdarson and Ricketts were evidently not fit.
Frankly you have argued against yourself half a dozen times today and still haven't grasped the point most people are making
