Didn't the team of 95 finish bottom of the Premier League?
Didn't the team of 95 finish bottom of the Premier League?
---
That was the season after Bruce Rioch left.
The 96 team under Todd finished bottom of the league mainly due to the disaster that was the joint manager decision, Once McFarland was removed Todd did quite well and lead us to the League title the season after.
i love how a bolton fan has come on here to be nostalgic, and comment what is good about our club... and the first response is negative! Brilliant!
BWFC forever, i do agree with some of what you have said, i loved the Burnden days, and i didnt see much of em! Looking forward to the new season now! COYWM!

Sadly with idiots like Rebel, you will always get the negative and irrational comments.
Sadly Rebel has filtered myself and other Bolton fans who disagree with his rubbish, so he will talkmtomhimself mainly.
This is an excellent article and well done for writing it. I was in the Exec Lounge at Burnden Park for Bruce Riochs first game (Home to Huddersfield), and him and Toddy came in to talk about their plans. He did not disappoint..
Rebel and some of the others need a reality check and a dose of 4th Division football, with a supermarket being built because of debt...
Thought you'd cleared off Rebel. Stick to your word eh, or email me and explain the filtering...
I've filtered a Burnley fan, because of his rubbish.. But in hindsight I did the wrong one.. At least he backs his team..

Hmmm gets me all misty eyed and nostalgic. may have to find that 92-93 goals comp from you tube to relive some of the magic. (sadly not all of it downloaded though)
I'm with forever on this. The 95 team was a great group under a very fine man manager that deserved better in the prem. I don't blame Bruce for going (although the timing was bad) because when a club like Arsenal knock on the door it's hard for any manager to say no. I'm just praying history doesn't repeat itself. In my opinion if the Gooners choke like they did last season the Arsenal board might well decide to look elsewhere. Wenger was told to spend this summer and that there was plenty of money for him to do it with and that in my opinion was a warning shot. after so long without a trophy the board seem to be saying 'We don't care how pretty the football is when the trophy cabinet's empty' and with a hard nosed American businessman as their main stockholder he won't want to hear things like 'building for the future' or 'attractive entertainment'. He'll want success, measurable as trophies and he'll want it now.
If he doesn't get it I'd be willing to bet that Owen would be in the running for that job. Maybe not today but in twelve months if we've had the kind of season Owen wants us to have then the Gooner board might well come looking.
I know it sounds a bit negative but the truth is that Owen probably left burnley because they couldn't or wouldn't give him the resources he needs to take their club forward. We are a step up for him but let's face it if someone from the top four or five came in for him he'd be insane not to at least THINK about it.
