TRC, I get you now. From that perspective yes.

I'm not one that is all for a major overhaul to the squad all in one go. But I really do hope we do that to the midfield.

Ship out Anderson, Fletcher, Fellaini and possibly Cleverley and bring in two more cm's and maybe bring back Powell leaving us with Herrera, Carrick, Powell and two new cm's.

Peks, what about Lass and Diarra?

Kaka? Huntelaar? Heck, you are all over Verratti and wanting to dump 33m Illaramendi after one season.

Motes and Beams, impetuous Madridista!

kaka was at the time rated as one of the best players when madrid bought him

That cross for Gyan's goal is one of my highlights of this tournament so far. Fantastic ball.

That was a ridiculous cross!

Who was it?

Apparently Shaw is having a medical tomorrow, TRC. You covered in blood yet?

Any prices quoted? Gibbs is a far superior left back for me. Too bad he is injured half the time!

Just seen, 30m it is! No wonder these English players never go abroad!

posted on 26/6/14

I've heard £27m rising to £31m depending on apps/success.

But others are saying £30m, or £34m, so I don't know.

A lot of our deals are undisclosed so it's hard to find out the exact transfer fee.

Gibbs is decent but wouldn't say he's far superior. I really like the look of Shaw from what I've seen, and I think he has a lot of potential, but the fee is facking silly.

That said, even thought we're overpaying for Shaw and Herrera at least we're getting our targets at least and getting them early because last summer was a bit of a shambles.

Outrageous!

I am speechless really.

We bought Fellaini and this makes you speechless?

Gibbs is actually way more than just decent! Very solid at the back and decent going forward. Of the Arsenal players, he is actually one that I can actually say is very underrated.

posted on 26/6/14

Problem with Gibbs is that he can't play a whole season so it's hard to judge him properly.

Yeah, I don't think he will ever get over his injury problems unfortunately! Sad because he really has raised his game in the past two years.

posted on 26/6/14

Does he always have the same recurring problem or is he just made of glass?

posted on 26/6/14

Well, Shaw is not a bad player tbd. The English tax just really drives me up the wall as he is not a 30m player.

However, it is a 'good day'. After the debacle of last year, who would have thought eh? I know it is very unlikely considering the deadwood, but we need one more CM IMO. Even more than a CB (i still have faith in Jones / Smalling). if we can snag Sanchez to go with that and we are golden.

TRC, yeah that's true. I think cb depends a lot on who else we sign in midfield.

If we get a player that can give us more dominance in the middle and protection as well then the inconsistencies at the back, especially if we continue to play a different back four each game, can be papered over for a season until we are in a better position to bring in the world class cb we need.

Will be interesting to see what LVG can do with our current defence also. He's made Ron Vlaar look like a defender at this world cup so it bodes well.

Made of glass. He gets so many different muscular injuries it's insane!

Arsenal are cursed I swear. I just remembered Diaby plays for you as well. Feel so sorry for that guy. He's a very talented player but just cannot catch a break.

Yeah, if it wasn't for bad luck then we would have no luck at all here! Funny enough, Diaby is exactly the kind of player our midfield is crying out for at the moment. I am sure he has already injured himself on holiday!!

posted on 26/6/14

Yeah him and Ramsey in midfield could be excellent.

It's happened too often for it to be down to bad luck. There is something wrong at the club.

Diaby is our own version of Anderson.
