Don't think this means Di María's off DK (though it doesn't mean he isn't either). Might mean he plays less, or doesn't play through the middle so much, but given the current situation with CR, I reckon Madrid will want to make sure they have adequate wing cover.

I actually think Isco would be affected the most.
For all intents and purposes, Kroos is a CAM who likes coming in from the left - but is capable playing across the midfield. He is certainly not a sitting CM.
I said it here last season and will say it again: this RM team is essentially complete. Sure there could be minor upgrades (Suarez/Kun for Benzema; Verratti/'peak' Gundogan for Xabi and ANYONE for Pepe). But that's it.
What this RM team needs is time and proper coaching which hopefully Carlo could provide. This team has the right blend of youth and experience, superstar star-dust and watercarriers to dominate for a good five years!

Re Isco, much as it saddens me, I have doubts that he's ideally suited to our game. We need more pace from our wide players than he has, and in the middle -which is where I think he might still fit in- we need a better workrate to make up for the lack of it from our wide players. Another drawback is that I don't see him as being as creative as some of the other no.10s out there.
We'll have to see how Kroos affects Isco's chances of playing AM. I don't really know that much about him. My hope is that like other top German footballers he has a sound understanding of the game that might allow him to fit into a central midfield role, which is where the side still needs attention.
Interesting IOAG, i guess it depends if you believe 'vision' and 'creativity' are skills that can be developed and assimilated. For that is where i think Isco is still unproven.
Since i will not consider 'workrate'- which is overrated anyway- , i think his technique is outstanding and he knows where the back of the net is.
Vision and creativity are interesting in that while I do feel they can be developed and improved, they also require a natural talent that sets the great aside from the good.

I think he had the attributes to develop that side of his game to a high level.
I think he needs to improve his decision making to be a world class playmaker. He doesn't look quite in tune with his teammates.
That can come with age and experience.
On the creativity being something you can develop I think Zlatan is a great example.
His playmaking skills, while good in his younger years, seemed to really come to the fore when he was at Milan.
Probably because he was having to carry crap like Robinho and do everything himself.

Just a thought before I jump into bed. Am I the only one who thinks Zabaleta has been absolutely dreadful in this world cup. He has been so poor defensively it's incredible! The Bosnia left winger gave him so many problems, should have conceded a peno against Iran and Musa tore him apart in the Nigeria game.
