Genius - I agree with your sentiments it was great to see Sandro & Kaboul back and I have always said that we look a different team when we play with pace & tempo if we get Coentrao, Aldeirwald, Capoue & Eriksen I will be a very happy man even if Bale goes !!

Yes I agree about those players & it will lessen the blow if GB leaves. Look like modric however seems fairly sure that he will stay. Now if that is the case we will have a squad that can rival Chelsea, United & City comfortably & will certainly surpass Arsenal's unless they produce some great signings at the last minute, which is normally our style

I think Baldini is obviously using his knowledge & experience to help AVB shape his own squad!

Morning Genius from Sunny Wales - I thought the movement of Soldado and the play of Walker were major plus points with Dembele & Lenon looking threatening.

I thought Rose was poor, quite a few errors and misplaced passes.

Much agree with most of this, although wouldn't say Walker had an excellent game, he was quite poor for me.

Rose looks much better than BAE at left back, although a shame about his injury. Friedel's still got it at 57.

Thought Kaboul made a difference to what was previously a very dodgy defence in the game, when he came on. Sigurdsson didn't cover himself in glory.

Dembele and Paulinho look really good together in the middle. Huddlestone was so bad I actually was laughing my head off at him when he came on. Missed passed, funny fouls, bad movement etc etc.

Soldado is gonna be the difference in my opinion between getting Champions League and not getting it. If Arsenal and Liverpool don't strengthen, it's Spurs' this season.

You are right to raise a query about lloris.

If friedel had conceded the same goals as we've conceded in pre season, he would have been booed out of the club.

I know it's only pre season, but a couple of the goals have been a worry. He needs to get his act together.

He gets a lot of grace for past glories but unless he sorts himself out Sunderland or Fulham are about his level.

Don't understand where this hype for Rose has come from. Every game I've seen him in a Spurs shirt, he's looked average at best. A good season with Sunderland shouldn't automatically put you in our first team. BAE is still the better player.

I thought Rose was decent. He's clearly more attack minded than defence minded but that's to be expected with him being switched to that role and still learning it. It could benefit him in a variety of ways, he could turn into a good left back or he could in future move back to left wing and have improved the defensive side of his game, tracking back and defending better for the team. I don't rate BAE at all.

TOOR, please calm yourself. I simply questioned your bold statement that implied Liverpool will be battling Spurs and Arsenal if they bought a few players. You're miles behind Spurs' quality, I'm afraid.

I've watched soldado over the last 3/4 years and knew what he was capable of, hence why I'd been shouting from the rooftops that we should sign him. Movement, finishing, intelligence, I'm excited to see what he brings to us this season.

Paulinho looked decent. He's got a bit of everything about him and is probably a bit more creative than he looks. Another player I'm looking forward to seeing.

First time I recall seeing chadli playing (don't really recall him playing vs us in the champs league). Looks talented but seemed a bit nervous, think he just needs to get a few games and some momentum going before we see what he's all about.

Glad to see sandro and kaboul back! Not expecting miracles from them as it will understandably take them time to get their rythym back.

Rose? Hmmmm.... Didn't see much of him at Sunderland last season so can't really judge him yet. At this moment the LB area is the area that concerns me as I'm sure you all know I'm no BAE fan
