Is this the one that Osgood and Duncan McKenzie scored in?
I love 70's football, how times have changed, probably not a foreign player on the pitch.
Yes, Osgood has just levelled to make it 2 v 2, yes Mackenzie scored from a free kick, bit of a Corrigan howler
Are we talking short shorts era?? Big bushy tashes and crap muddy pitches??
Oh the good old days
Jumpers for goal posts, slapping each others thighs!!
I remember a rainy muddy night against West Ham, can't remember if it was home or away but the ptich was a mess. Corrigan hoofed one up the park from the edge of his box then turned to trudge back towards his goal only to see the ball fly into it. A West Ham player had hit the hoof straight back up the park on the volley and scored over the back of Joe's head.
I remember it too, Ronnie Boyce was the West Ham player who scored. I just read last week Joe Corrigan was so distraught at that incident until after the game Bert Trautmann told him not to stew on it and get on with being a great Goalkeeper.
