The date was set before the draw.
AFAIK the G00ns still have to win the tie, because if Fenerbahce win and are kicked out another team will take their place.
Its the Court for Arbitration in sport shirking the responsibility again
They want Arsenal to do them a favour and knock Fener out so they dont have to make a potentially unpopular decision
Seems that way doesn't it.
If fernebache beat us and are kicked out then there is the possibility of us having to face Salzburg over two legs to get in group stages (Salzburg were knocked out by fernebache in the previous round)
It's a bit of a joke really as this should have been sorted out before fenerbache played their first qualifying match
Will Salzburg have to play the Turkish 4th placed team to get the chance to play us, SoGgy
I don't believe so no. It may be that we'd get put into the group stages anyway but I read that was one of the options that could happen
If Arsenal had to play a 2 legged match against Salzburg they'll be cream crackered
the op asked,
"what are the chances that they will be kicked out on 28? "
this is the question i'm interested in too.
anyone got a handle on this one ?
RDBD, why would another team be picked over Arsenal? And in what fair way would they be able to pick that team?
The rumour was that if Fenerbahce got thru and were then kicked out, the club finishing below them in their league would get the CL slot.
RDBD, that will not happen. There is 0% chance of that being the outcome.
If Fenerbahce go through but are kicked out then the group should stay as a 3 team.
They all play each other 3 times with 1 of the games being played at a neutral ground, UEFA could use the opportunity to promote the CL in Asia.
