I do agree with you Sandy to an extent, Bale is being a coward about this as he KNOWS he will get the backlash for leaving.

Morning Sandy! Not like you to sit on the fence?

I personally think GB has been told by the club not to comment to the media & to let AVB & DL take the strain & the flak.

The club will take the flak if he leaves!

"Discuss?"

When I was a kid in the 70s, my mates who had the replica Spurs shirt from Admiral said twas quite itchy to wear.

If the Under Armour kit is similar, no wonder our baby-skin Bale is refusing to wear it.

A 'Wales insider' is attributed with a quote while the player is saying nothing and has not handed in a transfer request. Bale might be many things but he is not daft and I'm sure he would not talk to a team mate for fear of it getting out. Given Marca is once again involved in the so called quote take it with a pinch of paella. A 'Wales insider' is a Marca journalist 'inside Wales' reporting on the game I suspect.

ShortBack

What you say may be true, but the question remains as to why Bale hasn't done a Fabregas? All he needs to do is come out and say he intends to stay at Spurs for at least another season and all the disruptive stories end. Yet he keeps silent

posted on 14/8/13

For those who clamouring for Bales to say something, why should he?
He cannot win by opening his mouth over the rumours and the so called "bid" on the table from Madrid.

Bale is being very sensible. He doesn't want to offend his current club, and he doesn't want to offend his next club whichever it is (Tottenham or otherwise).

The dealings are done between the club and the agent. As far as Bale is concerned, it doesn't matter where he plays. He is going to give it 100%.

But if RM don't finalise the deal (whether they match Spurs valuation or Spurs accept the current bid) by the end of the transfer window, then Bale stays and plays for us.

That's why he is quiet. Let the media frenzy take its course. Fans should allow him this as Bale did produce awesome performances last season and deserves the current media and transfer frenzy! COYS

I don't trust a Sun journo, especially one that has made this rubbish up

Why would GB risk months of silence by telling a team mate?

I have no doubt they talk but I can't see him telling another he wouldn't play for Spurs again

I think morespurs answered this for me 'Got a thing'. Bales strikes me as a lad who wouldn't say boo to a goose and would not like to be seen as burning bridges with a future potential employer or needlessly upsetting his current club. Bales silence is actually deafening to Marca and other journos, they love it as it enables them to write anything they like so it would be great for him to do a Fab but he will wait until DL tells him he's sold or is staying. If its the former he will thanks Spurs for sticking by him for the 24 game 'albatross' run, say we are some of the best fans in the world but its time for a move and if its the latter he will thank RM for their interest but he feels compelled to see out the Tottenham dream for one more season as he can see great things coming from it...
I'm an optimist me...

If I was Bale I would be doing my head in right now with all these stories, but like you say DL is telling him to stay quiet, one word from GB and his price moves either way

I think Bale's agent, Jonathan Barnett has not helped. His contract with GB expires in November this year & I feel he is just out to line his own pockets before Bale gets a new agent!

I read that Genius. It does look like an agent looking for a major payday just in case he loses the contract. Barnet has a history of tapping up (£100k fine and 18 months ban) doesn't he? There's your Wales Insider...

genius, what a strange thing to say! why wouldn't Jonathan Barnett want some of the potential windfall from this so called bid which is omg massive

Anyone in his shoes would?

You know what else:

Spurs & Levy are showing greedy signs too by being quiet and waiting for RM to match their valuation and trying to squeeze as much as possible.

In fact, it is normal to make this transfer as profitable as possible and everyone involved will do so too.

Including the media who are racking it in!

Because I believe it is Barnett who has sown the seeds with Madrid & Marca in order to turn Bale's head.

You are extremely naive if you think Barnett or any other agent has his client's best interests at heart, especially with only a few months left on his contract as GB's agent!

Why are the club & Levey being greedy? If the club puts a valuation on a player & someone matches it thats is fine. However if they don't match it, then that is their problem & not Spurs.

If Bale really wants to leave, then why did he sign a new contract last year?

I think your viewpoint is very strange & I question whether really understand the ins & outs of a football club!

==================

Never in a million years did I think that genius.

Far from it I think Jonathan would be a foolish not take advantage of this saga and the money on the table.

Why not?

By the way, you got my points totally wrong.

Its best to read comments without emotions first
