Not all about money

Coaching youngsters to become great players needs a great coach/manager, that leaves grayson off the list.

I'm sure Barca have players who cost'em a mint, although I don't follow'em.

Surely if it's not about money, wouldn't/shouldn't we have been promoted this season when we occupied 2nd spot.

If what you say is correct, then it doesn't say much about Larry, he couldn't/didn't find any decent players after other clubs had snapped'em up in transfer window, plus,

Bates said decent players want to come to a great club like ours.................where are they?

Of course it's possible for a club to be promoted to the Premiership without excessive spending. The clubs you name, plus West Brom are good recent examples.

The problem for us is that without that spending on quality players, you need to have good young players coming through, supported by proven coaching staff. I remain unconvinced that we possess either of these things.

With our current structure, I believe we are looking at 7-10th place next season. The clubs I see finishing above us are the three coming down, plus Forest, Leicester and Reading. Anything better will only be achieved by improving the playing staff over the summer.

Fingers crossed!!!!!

Actually I think you'll find that the Barcelona academy costs a hell of a lot to run. Probably the same as if they were to buy their players.

But in terms of us, yeah if we get the RIGHT players in cheaply. A bit dent in our team for next season is the loss of Johnson for nothing, and the players like Norris aren't good enough that we've been linked with.

Barca have put together a great world class team by a mixture of spending loads of dosh as Leeds60 clarifies, stealing youth from other teams youth set-ups and paying their players huge amounts of money in wages, appearance fees and so on. I have a lot of respect for them but you can't claim that money does not keep Barca at that level. Put Guardiola in charge of Donny Rovers and let's see how good he is
