I have to be honest and admit I'd hardly heard of Willian until we were linked with him.
I honestly am wondering if he is as good as all of the excitement from fellow Reds would appear to suggest. If he is, then he looks like the kind of player we need.

You're claiming Willian is quality purely on what you've seen on the net.If the net was that reliable, clubs wouldn't need scouts. How many players have looked good on Youtube but turned out to be duds?

All I knew about Willian was Tottenham were linked with him for ages. I think I have seen him play for shaktar Donetsk; however I don't remember what he is like. All I do know is 30m is a lot of money and if he turns out to be cack, it will set us back.

The scouts want him, the assumption is the scouts think he's good. Fan research on the net shows he has strengths that would suit out team.

Maybe,but to go from knowing nothing about a player, then to say he's quality when he's probably only seen highlights is typical GB. Have you seen the footage on Bilyaletdinov? He looks outstanding,but he didn't cut the mustard here. If GB had said he LOOKS quality,then that would of been different.

I haven't seen the footage, but again more assumptions are usually made. Most people rarely watch foreign leagues regularly. I've watched Willian play less than 5 times I think, but he is clearly a very talented player. The excitement stems from his price tag. I think he has the same rep as Coutinho, but he's 5 years older (just - birthday this month it seems) and has a price tag of £30m so expectations go up. It's a natural thought process.

What was Bilyanetdinov's price tag? Who could you compare him with that had already been a success?

I didn't know much about him last month.

I have now spoken to friends who know what they are talking about and they have assured me he is top quality.

I now know that he is top quality.

Willian is following both Coutinho and Lucas on twitter, and Lucas is following Willan, and they only became following each other in the few days.
Also one of our first team physio coaches also started following Willian
However I'm not sure the Willian account is actually used by him

It's best not to go on Twitter rumours though.
