There goes your big signing of not just your summer, but your club history. He lasted one game.
@chrislepkowski: #wba confirm that Anelka will not be involved in Saturday’s game. The club have excused the striker from club duty on compassionate grounds.
It may be a massive over-reaction because his minds not in the right place. How many times have any of us done that?
The thing that concerns me is that if he changes his mind, whats to stop him from doing it again.

#wba insist Anelka has NOT retired. I understand his agent has died - which has hit him badly. What the future holds, we'll see
his agent is also his brother
Nico
Hopefully he can clear his head and return to the club
Maybe people should have a little more compassion.
Making up tedious crap
Nice on adot, for someone with supportstan in your name, surely you can see some things are more important that football?
I didn't know his brother had passed away. You seriously think, if I knew that I would react like that? I think if you have a look at the articles made as the news broke, it was reported by the media as if he'd walked out and retired. I wish him the best, am sure he will come back stronger, but I think it is obvious he will need some time off.
Maybe wait until the story breaks from official sources and we get the true story before making comments?
I think that comment applies to all. Not just me, so I hope you mean it in that way.

Anelka walks out on The Pigs in Lipstick?? Rather retire than play for #WBA

All the s are coming out
Adot, yes I do, including comments on the Wolves website, which are now being hastily withdrawn.
Stan Collymore couldn't resist a dig also but he soon deleted the tweets. Not sure what he tweeted exactly.
No apology, explanation or condolenses from those pair of grade a s
His agent was Eric Manasse NOT his brother
Let's face it, Stan Collymore and Rodney Marsh aren't exactly the brains of Britain are they.
that makes sense
so its not his brother that has died

West Bromwich Albion will hold talks with Nicolas Anelka to discuss his Hawthorns future when he returns from compassionate leave.
The Baggies striker has been granted time off following the death of one of his agents and close friend Eric Manasse .
The 34-year-old turned up to training on Thursday morning in a fairly distressed state, cleared out his locker and asked for an immediate meeting with sporting and technical director Richard Garlick.
It was during this meeting that Anelka, who tonight paid tribute to Manasse on Facebook, cast doubt over his playing future, indicating that he would like to retire with immediate effect.
However, the meeting was amicable with Anelka being granted time-off.
Speculation on Twitter at first suggested that Anelka had already quit.
That is not the case with Doug Pingisi, who manages Anelka's affairs confirming this in French press, saying: "Nicolas has not ended his career."
Albion do, however, plan to hold further discussions when he returns to try to establish how the land lies.
I understand Steve Clarke has also been in touch with him to check on his well-being.
Anelka has played just one competitive game for Albion, making his Premier League debut for the club in last weekend’s defeat to Southampton .
The former Arsenal and Chelsea man joined the Baggies on a free transfer from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua in July, having finished last season on loan to Juventus.
His form during pre-season was impressive, with the ex-France international netting seven goals in as many games.
If Anelka does leave Albion it will leave the Baggies one striker worse off - with just 10 days of the transfer window remaining - although they have brought in wide-man Scott Sinclair .

We could do with finding out sooner rather than later if he does plan to hang up his boots.
As harsh as that sounds, but it will leave us a man short up top.
